Hidden and mystic discovery. This has been treat to me. Fantastic beach to stay an afternoon and evening, even if the food isn’t the best, the people there are great, staff and customers, the atmosphere is friendly, unique and somehow addictive. I’ll be back soon

I have stayed in hundreds of jungle- and beach huts. The huts at Why Nam are among the most perfectly designed I have ever seen. The location: one of the most magical bays on the planet. Absolutely perfect - I have been coming here since 1997, when Why Nam was still an empty secret beach. So, a world-class magical bay, a perfectly designed little resort. What could possibly go wrong? Unfortunately - a lot. A desastrous management. The blissful and chilled vibe gets completely destroyed by three to four afternoon or evening techno-raves a week, right at the beach. This is not only disgusting noise-pollution, it also attracts drugged-up day-trip ravers from the underbelly of the island, peeing into the sea and burping at the bliss they are kicking into the ground. And even worse, the management does not even have the guts to announce these parties: on the daily schedule they only post yoga- and meditation-sessions. Not a single word about these drugged sonic assaults. Is that why the third night is for free? Probably most people escape after two days. Having been to Why Nam for almost thirty years, I am confident that this madness will also come to an end some day and Why Nam will be a paradise once more.

Die Unterkunft ist etwas ganz besonderes. Es gibt kleine Häuschen und die gesamte Anlage ist im Retreat-Stil gehalten. Es gibt Yoga und auch ein kleines Restaurant. Wir haben in einem Baumhaus-Chalet übernachtet & waren sehr zufrieden. Es war sauber und das Bad modern. Natürlich muss man Bedenken, dass man im Dschungel ist und auch der ein oder andere tierische Mitbewohner vorbeikommen kann. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es ein paar Restaurants und auch einen kleinen Shop - ansonsten findet man hier nichts außer Ruhe, wunderschöne Strände, Natur & wenige Touristen. Ab und an gibt es hier wohl auch ein paar Partys - dies haben wir nur einmal mit bekommen & die Musik war gegen 23 Uhr zu Ende. Es gilt zu beachten, dass man nur per Boot anreisen kann. Wir sind über die Haad Rin Pier angereist. Zurück kommt man auch per Boot - hier ruft das Hotel gerne ein Boot oder man stellt sich an den Strand und wartet auf ein Boot (wir empfehlen an einem der größeren Strände zu warten). Wenn es zu stürmisch ist, gibt es wohl auch die Möglichkeit mit dem Jeep zurück nach Haad Rin zu kommen. Wenn man eine besondere Zeit mit seinen Liebsten verbringen möchte, ist man hier genau richtig.
