I booked the room with self catering but there was no ooven.I was dissppointed about this. I had to carry the gas bottle upstairs.

If it were not for the 2 very nice Namibian ladies I would have given 1* .. The rooms are advertised as self-catering however the few plates etc were all old castoffs & really disappointing. The beds/bedding were good. The toasted sandwiches the ladies made in the morning were very good, the place was very clean. The owners seemed totally uninterested.

An absolute wonderful experience at a place where you can feel the beauty of the Kalahari. The helpfulness and friendliness of our hosts overwhelmed us. I can recommend this place as the number one stop near Mata Mata.

We stayed for 1 night before travelling into the Kalahari Transfrontier Park. the room was very spacious and clean, with the most comfortable pillows I had all holiday! There was also a kitchenette and a lovely cafe onsite open during the day until 5pm. If you don't want to self-cater then some of the nearby lodges take dinner bookings. My only complaint was that there was no hot water available on the evening we arrived, although there was plenty in the morning. I would stay here again if in the area.

The stay at Kalahari Farmstall was excellent, the unit that we stayed in was clean, and our braai area had a nice view of the dam. The restaurant was near by, and sold us some wood. Kalahari Farmstall is also close to Mata Mata, and the Kgalagadi border area.

If you are traveling from Namibia to Kgalagadi National Park and either do not get a reservation in Mata-Mata, or will arrive too late to check into Mata-Mata, then the Kalahari Farmstall Accommodation is the perfect place to stay over. Just 16km from the border, good rates, a shop, swimming pool and very spacious rooms, each with its own braai, Kalahari Farmstall is a winner!

This is a real gem. Everthing that was needed for over night stay was there. Neat and clean. Friendly people. Even WIFI. Highly recommended.
