100-acre eco-property in the Palani Hills. Around 20 km from Kodaikanal, and 8 km from Perumal Malai Junction. Located in one of the top 25 global biodiversity hotspots (Western Ghats). Close to Perumal Malai, a scenic trekking destination.I enjoyed the stay with delicious multicuisine food.

Words fall short for this magnificent property. Its magnificence is primarily due to its natural grandeur of hills, forest, and a rapid stream that cuts through this 200 acre property. The earthy and eco senstive architecture that uses local materials and traditional detailings is highly experiential. It merges amidst the greens of the surrounding, and doesn't try to ostentatiously show off. The dense clouds that enter rooms through various windows only make the mood even more romantic. The staff is full heart. The cuisine however, could be more local and authentic, like the architecture. The property needs a little maintenance and an eye to detailing for interiors. All of the above and a little more heartfelt warmth in hospitality will make this as one of the greatest eco places in the country.

Good for families who want to have a peaceful and relaxing place. Free from mass tourism Food is good Need to walk a lot especially river cottage (some people like it or some may not like it) Not recommended for those who go for Kodai sightseeing. Need to travel for an hour to reach the tourist hotspot

My experience at Elephant Valley was nothing short of magical. From the property to views to food, everything was really good. I was meeting two school best-friends for an annual reunion. We had a very sweet time. The cottage assigned was gorgeous- it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the views were beautiful. We only ended up eating dal, rice and chapati- because the most basic meals tasted divine. The coffee was delicious too! There's a lot of area to explore- to walk around in the property and outside too. The entire staff is very kind and helpful. Mr. Mani was very accommodating to our requests and needs. To have a good time here, all you need to do is respect the nature and the resort's rules and they will make sure to make your experience worthwhile. I genuinely cannot wait to go back again!

We visited this property in May 2023. Group of 12 people including 2 kids. The property is beautiful. Picturesque landscape with a great view of hills and the property includes a water stream as well. But the Pros end here. The interior of the rooms is not so good. There is no electricity at night which makes it bit inconvenient if you are staying with family. Rooms are distantly located. The honeymoon cottage is located near the river and you cannot come out of it after 7:30 pm due to the expected presence of wild animals. Security is there till 9 pm to escort you till your room in case any help needed but at night do not expect any help in case of crisis. It’s pitch dark outside and you are expected to stay within your room. Food was not good. The staff is polite but very slow. It takes eternity to get your order. Last night of the stay my daughter started vomiting due to something she ate there. Whole night she was vomiting but there was no other choice but to wait till morning to get her some medical aid. The management needs to improve the facilities and train the staff in a better manner.

We had an amazing time at the Elephant Valley Eco Farm. Mani the manager was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. All of the staff members were excellent and super helpful. The lodge we stayed in was simple and very comfortable. Exactly what we wanted. The food was fresh and tasty. The valley is beautiful and it was very interesting learning from Mani about all of the crops that are cultivated on the farm. Highly recommended.

Sprawling property right in the midst of nature surrounded by lush green forests and a river flowing through the estate. However the stay was far from pleasant. The property is not at all maintained - either from lack of funds or to keep the wilderness element intact - whatever may be the reason - as guests we felt cheated considering their high tariffs. No proper signboard even at the entrance ( had a harrowing time locating it), no proper path from the dining and reception to our cottage (a far way off), grounds full of weeds and unkempt grass strewn with cow dung, no proper lighting of the premises. They do not serve food in the rooms and it had been raining during our stay so it was tough commuting to the dining hall in near darkness. And then there were the blood sucking leeches clinging onto our shoes every time we walked to and from our cottage. At first we were terrified, later accustomed - and pulling out the leeches became a daily ritual. The wooden cottage where we stayed was 2- storied, built like boat with drab and musty interiors and a leaking roof (balcony). The food was good but the portions not generous. The very few staff manning the huge property were polite, friendly and helpful. The Honeymoon Cottages are located on the other side of the river deep in the forest. There is hanging bridge ( one person at a time) to cross the river. Given the very poor state of maintenance, would strongly advice young couples against staying there however romantic it may seem on print.
