Horizon Eco Resort

As a solo traveler good communication is very important to my comfort and owner/operator Lory Follador provides that! Located on an island near Kuraburi with no scheduled boat service I was trusting that our arrangements would go smoothly....and they did. This was my second trip to Horizon Eco Bungalows. Both times my ride from Phuket was waiting for me at the arranged time with a sign clearly identifying himself to me with clean, reliable, comfortable transportation. Each time the long tail boat was waiting for me at Kuraburi pier to take me to the island. I love the location, steps from the warm bay, sandy beaches and beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The restaurant is right on the beach and seems to encourage friendly, casual conversation among the international guests. The food is really outstanding! Delicious! My bungalow was all I needed. Electricity from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Electricity available at the restaurant throughout the day if necessary. Lory is a natural host, familiar with Koh Phra Thong for many years and happy to recommend how and when we might enjoy the beauty and variety of the island. Snorkeling, beach walks, kayak the mangrove, explore the savannah, catch the sunrises and sunsets accompanied by the cicada chorus. Lory is fluent in 5 languages that I heard so is absolutely able to help with any needs! I highly recommend Horizon Eco as a place to reconnect with the rhythm of the earth, to be a part of nature and be fed sumptuously. A winning combination!! And Lory will help it all go smoothly! Such an amazing place. Much has been said about how wonderful the experience at Horizon Eco Lodge is and it is all true! Beautiful and calm beaches, nice bungalows and a familiar and friendly atmosphere at Horizon. The food is simply superbe. We highly recommend it!

A wonderful hospitable place. I was staying for a week. This resort is perfect for those who would like harmony, privacy in nature and are ready for simplicity. Perfect for a meditative retreat or yoga in nature. Wide empty beaches of many kilometers. There are two small islands with beautiful corals near the beach. In good weather, you can go snorkeling. Very tasty food! The resort can organize a trip to the Surin Islands or safari (eco) in the interior of the island. Keep in mind, since this is a real immersion in nature, there are its own peculiarities: there are no shops, ATMs or some kind of civilization nearby, wi-fi works in the common area (not in the bungalow), electricity in the bungalow after 18 hours. But the resort can help with important needs. Take mosquito and sand fly repellents with you (you can buy them on the spot). I especially want to mention the friendly staff, and of course Lory is the main person in this beauty!

I had a wonderful stay at Horizon Resort, it is one of the most beautiful and tranquil islands I have visited in Thailand. The food at the resort is delicious, with a great selection of vegetarian options, and even vegan if requested. Lory and her team offer first class service and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and personalized. I will be back.

We stayed at the Horizon Eco Resort for two weeks with our 5-year-old twins and we had an absolutely marvellous time together. Definitely a place to recommend for people looking for a vacation away from the fast-paced life, where one can relax and enjoy the beautiful beach, sun, and swimming in the sea or kayaking. The accommodation is simple, but the bungalows are cosy and clean. The atmosphere in the resort is very friendly, almost family-like. Lory is a fantastic host, and she would make sure that all guests would have a pleasant stay. Last but not least, the food was absolutely delicious!
