Lovely place. Everybody is so nice and helpful. Love the complementary boat tour! Some nice restaurants nearby (butterfly blue) Location is great, although you need a car or uber for sightseeing or going out to a restaurant.

Das St. James hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Sehr schöne Lage, tolle Zimmer und guter Service. Für den Start unserer SA Reise zu viert ein vorzügliches Hotel. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und serviceorientiert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Hotel sehr empfehlen. Der Bootsausflug in der Lagune war toll.

Excellent and quiet hotel in Knysnia
I liked the hotel as I got a spacious beautiful room giving towards the lake. Very quiet. Very good and attentive staff.

This must be the best place to stay in Knysna. I agonized about whether to stay here or closer in town and I definitely made the right choice. Everyone in ZA seems nice but the St James is beyond nice. It really is lovely to come back to a place where people go above and beyond. Great breakfast overlooking the water without the crowd. Nice place to have a cocktail after dinner. Huge room with great views. Private, safe parking area. I never even used the beautiful boat which other guests took advantage of. Enjoy!

We had three very pleasant days at St James. The room was very comfortable, bright and airy. Our breakfasts were delicious and the welcome from the staff couldn’t have been warmer. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary boat trip on the lagoon. Sandy the manager was very helpful and we would love to return to this wonderful hotel.
