Cottons Hotel and Spa

Booked an overnight spa break as a party of 4 for 40th birthday celebrations. We had access to the spa from 12 which we found to be spotlessly clean ,with a good sized swimming pool ,hot tub ,a small steam room and sauna .There are numerous loungers and also a small area outside with a small hot tub.There is also a small bar .As the weather was glorious we made full use of the outside area.We each had a treatment included in our booking.Our rooms were comfortable with spotlessly clean linen and towels and complimentary toiletries.We had booked the restaurant for dinner which is where our experience went sadly downhill .We had finished our starters and ordered an aperol spritz each .The waiter brought them the table ,as he put one down somehow the tray unbalanced and the remaining 3 including ice tipped all down my daughters back !! She was absolutely soaked. The staff acted quickly ,sweeping up the glass etc.and were very apologetic. One of the staff took charge ,apologising saying that the drinks were taken off the bill, I should think so they were all over the floor!! Fortunately my daughter had something to change in to,however the whole incident spoilt our meal.When she returned to the restaurant our main courses arrived ,however hers was not fresh ,the chips were very dry and the burger luke warm. The lady looking after us,was again most apologetic,and did try her best to rectify the situation. As we had booked through Spa Breaks there is a £30 pp allowance towards dinner ,however on asking for the bill this had not been included meaning we had to ask for it to be amended.I appreciate accidents happen ,however dinner was a disaster, a shame as it was a special birthday meal.My daughter was told that her clothes would be collected and laundered,however this didnt happen and are now stained bright orange .The rest of our stay was good ,the rooms and beds very comfortable with a/c and pkenty of hot water. Breakfast was good , with a choice of cooked items and pastries etc, however the dinner disaster did spoil our stay.I have contacted the hotel with feedback about our experience but have yet to receive a response.
