I travel a lot for work and I found the Front Desk staff here to be amazing. They were the epitome of professionalism. They were friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and timely. I had a lot of questions and they had all the answers. All with a smile on their faces. The hotel itself was quiet and clean and the rooms were well-maintained. The breakfast was very, very good. I had read the reviews before coming and was pleasantly surprised – I heard they had new ownership and it shows! Everything was great! Thank you! I recommend strongly and I will be back.

Hotel 3rd and 4th floors are being renovated; as a result elevator was Very dirty. Our bathroom facet was broken- hanging down in the sink, but you still could get cold water. Hotel is very tired looking. Hall stinks and carpet is dirty. Free breakfast - no spoons, stale cereal Twin- one of the employees was very kind and friendly at breakfast and was apologetic for being out of ice and milk

This place is a dump! Old, outdated, dirty, and everything was closed or in disrepair. Closer to a crack house than a hotel. It is being remodeled, so it may improve in the future, but it has a long way to go.

Pool and ice machines out of order. Room was very humid. No hot water at any time. Out of Breakfast by 9. Dirty and mildew smell. Wifi wasn't working.Told at checkout it was under new management. Still had to pay full price for half the stuff. The only plus was the location.

Please don’t stay here. There were mushrooms growing out of the ceiling, semen on the bed skirt and black mold all over the place. The pool was closed for maintenance but it looked like it hadn’t been used in 20 years. There was algae floating in it. We watched a man pull ***** out of his shoe by the elevator. The staff was nice enough but even the kindest employees can’t make up for MUSHROOMS GROWING OUT OF THE CEILING. The hotel needs some serious TLC and a visit from the health department.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. Booked this for my boyfriend who was in the area for work. He arrived to the reservation a day late because his job was delayed. The whole 2 week reservation was charged up front and I was told it was non-refundable. That was fine. While he was checking in, he heard a guest tell the front desk that she needed a new room because of mold. He went to the room they assigned him and opened the door with the key. There was a woman in there. He went back to the front desk and got another room key. There was a woman in there too. He went for his third room and there was black mold all over the walls and ceiling. The manager will not refund the $1000+ stay even though the person at the desk told him he would be refunded when he left. He had to find another place to stay because he has asthma. Even if he didn't, black mold is extremely dangerous. This hotel is putting people at risk by giving people keys to occupied rooms and also having an extreme black mold problem. Also, don't expect a refund!!! The manager does not care at all. The Choice hotels customer service can't issue a refund, only the manager can. I filed complaints with the BBB and the AG office because this place is a scam!

Kids just wanted a pool to swim in. Not notified and would not refund room rate when the pool was condemned by the state, and had been since mid march. Do your self a favor stay elsewhere! Disgusting!

Me and my family currently travel the country playing in tournaments and I can tell you this is by far the worse hotel I have stayed in ever. I asked nicely 3 different times for my room to be recleaned because it was so dirty they never came down. When I checked in the front desk guy did inform me of a hot water issue but said they already had a call in to the plumbers and it would be fixed promptly the next morning. I said that’s not a big deal we will still stay. I was told the next day when we came in the issue was fixed, I tried to shower and there was nothing when I went to the front desk his response was “oh yeah you aren’t the only one”. When I asked if we would at least get compensated for all of the inconveniences his response was “as far as that goes there’s nothing I can do” when I asked for the manager his response was “she comes in a few hours a day I know her schedule though” I tried to make contact several times and was told repeatedly she wasn’t available. The carpet is patchworked together and they have painted over water spots. I also was charged on two different bank accounts because he told me my card was declined on the first time. When I inquired about it his response was “yeah i don’t know all I’m showing is one, I showed him on my bank accounts and his response was yeah as far as that goes I don’t know what to tell you it should fall off you can call your bank and ask them why it was taken out” like what it’s Saturday night at 11 o’clock what am I suppose to do? I asked if the manager could call me and left my number only to receive no response for her. We shouldn’t have stayed and neither should you. This hotel should be closed down.

This was a one-night stay at the Clarion with my family on our way back home from a vacation in South Carolina. The rooms for moldy, dirty and unhygienic. I paid around $55 per room. At that rate I don't expect ANY frills but I do expect a basic, clean room. The ceilings had mold, the smoke detector was missing, and the toilet seat had pee stains that I myself cleaned! The hallways stank and had old, dirty carpets. It's like they don't have (don't want to invest in) housekeeping staff. The only plus point - the check-in staff was polite and courteous.
