Cozy room. Some mosquitoes but don’t bite.

Disappointing Experience at Crater Lake Resort Our recent stay at Crater Lake Resort was disappointing and did not reflect the experience we had hoped for. Despite the name, the property is more comparable to a campground with cabins and limited amenities than a true resort. We booked a studio cabin by phone after learning that the larger cabins were already reserved. While the resort’s website does note that the studios do not have air conditioning, this important detail was not mentioned during our direct phone conversation with the staff member who took our reservation. Had we known, we likely would have made other arrangements—especially given the nearly 100-degree temperatures during our visit. The cabin became uncomfortably hot during the day, and with only small box fans available, it remained that way well into the night. It didn’t begin to cool down until after midnight, making for a sweaty and restless night. Although it was cooler outside, the heavy presence of mosquitoes—unaffected by insect repellent—made it difficult to enjoy the outdoors. We also had issues with the TV. Despite following the provided instructions, we were unable to get it working. After 20 minutes of troubleshooting, we gave up and used our tablets instead, though the resort’s Wi-Fi was spotty and unreliable. Since it was after hours, there was no staff available to assist. We mentioned these issues at checkout, but the front desk clerk offered only a brief apology. Later that day, we called and spoke with the manager, who offered a 10% refund and promised a follow-up email with confirmation. Over a week has passed, and we have yet to receive either the refund or the email. We hope the resort will take this feedback seriously and follow through on the resolution that was promised. Our experience did not match expectations, and better communication and follow-up would go a long way toward improving future guest stays.

I took my 8th grade class here for our end-of-year-trip, using the resort as a launching base for Crater Lake National Park, High Desert Museum, and Lava Lands. This resort was perfect for our experience. The house and cabins were very comfortable and full of amenities for us to use. The staff bent over backwards to help us with every question and issue we had. The students absolutely loved going canoeing and swimming in the creek. They also loved the open grass area to play catch, frisbee, and to hang out together. The students also loved playing hide-and-seek on the grounds, as well as taking nature walks on the trail that meanders through the property. The community fire pit was a delight, and the maintenance man brought us extra wood when he saw we were running out. I am hoping to make this place a regular lodging for our class trips. Thank you so much!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was super comfortable and super clean. The staff were very courteous and knowledgeable. Location for crater lake is the best. The only downside was the only food in the area was a “******”. I strongly recommend avoiding this place if you can.

Personally, not worth the money for the stay. Expected a bit more, lots of "extra" charges that I would have expected to be included for the price tag. Cabin was very clean, updated, and comfortable.

It’s very basic . Nothing like a resort . Middle of nowhere. There is nothing much around . Had basic things provided . We stayed there to go to Crater lake . Next time we would prefer to stay in Bend , which has more options . If you plan to stay , bring groceries and food to cook . We went to Walmart to Kalmath Falls , which is the nearest city with some options.

Very quiet property. It was a peaceful and comfortable stay. The grounds are clean and the store has everything you need. Dinning is about 10 minutes away at the ******.
