The Gific Hotel

The Hotel Manager, Mr. Newton MURIITHI , Has got to be one of the hardest working managers I have ever met. With out an assistant he keep tabs of the entire operations. ( I did not notice any micro- managing. I work ed for the Sheraton hotels in the 70's under a Mr. John Carl. He was great man to work for. Mr. Muriithi reminds me of him. Very Professional and observant. The kitchen was clean and the serving area was alway refreshing, I checked the silver ware and never found an issue. His staff veery attentive to the clientele. I was sick for a day and had to have cabbage and rice. for three meals. It was the best cabbage I have ever eaten. I can not praise them enough. If I return with MEDS for African next year I am recommending this as the hotel I would like to be placed. It is an old building with some issues but the staff, management and the clinic in the building will get my recommendation for future trips. Hotel Manager Newton and his staff did all we asked and more as a group of 18 staying in his hotel for 7 days during a recent MEDS for Africa mission trip. We occupied the entire 5th floor. Banquet meals were tasty, service was good, employees (Sheila, Pam, Ezekiel, Roseleine and others) strived to keep us happy by our American standards even though we were in Kenya! I really enjoyed my view from the 5th floor/front of the hotel room overlooking the countryside.
