Hotels near TSURUHA DRUG(小仓三荻野店), Kitakyushu

Even if you can't do the room, the space is very large than you think, so you have to stay more than four people. We were two, so we thought we were scared to die when we went to pee at night. Inside, it's clean, except for some dead bugs in the light bulb. For reference, there's Dyson. However, most of the other ryokan have luggage transfer services, but you have to move here directly, and it is expensive for a ryokan where there is no hot spring. Still, the garden view is more beautiful than expected! The photos are also very good. The courtyard here is more beautiful than the Kokura courtyard

I booked a budget hotel for a short stay on the last day, so I went there without much expectations, but the hotel staff was friendly and there was wifi. It worked well and the room was a bit small but clean and there was a smell of cigarettes in the bathroom. There are some scratches, but the cleaning condition is good, so I am generally satisfied.

This room type is sufficient for 4. Would be nice if hotel explains how to set up room. Futon is much thinner than the 12 tatami mat room type. Was difficult to enquire room rate and extension from front desk, ended up just booking on trip.com directly, much easier snd hassle free.

It's about a 10-minute walk from Kokura Station. It's also close to Heiwa-dori Monorail, but depending on the monorail schedule, the time it takes to walk there will be the same. The ladies at the front desk greet you cheerfully. They offer coffee service and a night-only ochazuke service. There are plenty of amenities, and there's a manga corner at the first floor entrance that I would have liked to read if I had had the time. There's also a cashless-only mini food corner where you can buy something. The large and medium-sized baths were crowded, so I gave up on both days. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was weak. It probably depends on the room you stay in, but on weekends, you can hear heavy bass from a nearby club until late at night, which may be bothersome for some people.

JR Kokura Station is about 10 minutes walk away, and it is easy to find. If you really don't want to walk, the light rail station is right in front of the hotel, and it takes 100 yen to get to Kokura Station. The front desk is on the second floor and feels a bit old. But the room feels bigger than most Japanese hotels. There is also free breakfast. Overall, it is a pleasant surprise to stay in this hotel at this price.

The hotel is at a prime location, close to the Kokura station, shopping malls, Kokura Castle, Tanga market, streets of bars…and there are two convenient stores downstairs so you don’t need to worry about getting hungry at midnight. The price is reasonable and the facilities are sufficient. The fact that staff still don’t speak much English makes it hard to be internationally welcoming.

You have to register yourself from check-in to check-out, which is convenient and fast. The bathtub is comfortable and large. There were many people that night but it was enough to accommodate. There is a bus stop right outside the door. There is also a food street 3 minutes away. There is a 24-hour restaurant, which is suitable for night tourists. Not bad

1. Very spacious room for this price point to be honest. Could be because it's not a major city... 2. Kitchen equipment like induction cooker and pot and bowls and utensils were provided! Makes it possible to cook your own meals (or even just Maggie mee) fridge was very big so can buy drinks to store 3. Location was alright. Located along small alley but very near main road leading to shopping street and Kokura station. 4. Aircon and heater worked well. Great for winter weather 5. Bathroom ventilator was very strong. To the extent that it feels very cold after taking a shower. We tried closing the bathroom door at night and it was literally like a freezer in the morning when we open it. But also because of the ventilator, our clothes dried fast indoors 🥶 6. Now to the pain points. First got to be the facility management and check in check out process. This property does auto check in meaning there is no physical staff to handle your check in check out throughout. There is no receptionist at all. I made my booking 2- 3 hours prior to arriving at property. At the front door we were prompted to input entry passcode which we had no idea what it was (it's not the reservation number provided by the booking partner like Agoda or trip.com) tried to contact both the hotel helpline (there was a Jp phone number at the entrance but that's all, no other info whatsoever) and also escalated to Agoda (as I made my booking through Agoda for first nights) but no ans. In the end we had to enter property when someone unlocked the front entrance using her own passcode before we could speak to the helpdesk through the tablets. So it turns out that they claim most travellers would make their reservation at least a day prior to arrival, which was why system didn't capture my booking (yet ironically they allowed booking for same day check in .... When they clearly cannot manage the whole process) shouldn't there be more effort being put in to monitor for same day booking so the traveller doesn't get stuck at the front entrance especially in winter weather? We had to sit at the park nearby while trying to contact the helpdkesks but couldn't get through till the end...... The whole check in process was rather manual, basically you enter the info as prompted on screen then video call the helpline agent to verify before you'll get your passcode to your room. (All through tablet) Security seems alright if you're ok with the idea of using a keypad lock instead of having a physical room card? I guess customers just have to always make sure no one is looking when entering the passcode at the front door. Btw same passcode is used to enter hotel front entrance and for your room lock. All in all the biggest issue we found was the check in check out process. Overall stay was above average.

the hotel is closing to the JR Station, it is just walking within 7 minutes from the station, it is very convenience for the travelers. Moreover, the front desk stuff is very nice and cheerful, and can response to the customer's queries promptly. The check in and check out process is very smooth and quick. When inside the room, the facilities is fine and clean, have a big working desk and enough light for the traveler when working is required with their computer. The Wi-Fi network is okay. Furthermore, the breakfast is fine and have lot of varieties for the guest to choose. the restaurant staff's service is nice. Also, there are lot of different restaurants which located around the hotel. Highly recommend to come back again in the next time.

This is a typical Japanese business hotel. The rooms are small, the facilities are old, and the soundproofing is poor. However, it is close to Kokura Station, so it is easy to travel on foot. It's convenient. Breakfast is also free, so I think it's good value for money.
