Mare Paphos

Great atmosphere in the hotel. Lots of daytime entertainment and staff who work hard to entertain. Nighttime entertainment good and can mix up between singers/performers and actual Shows. Poolside disco was great fun. Rooms are good. Plenty of space in those we had. Location isn't great, probably 15m in a taxi to Paphos itself. Food is decent and they try to offer a wide variety of options. The main eating area is bedlam at busy times! Service is good and staff always helpful. Beds at pool aren’t particularly comfy, and would like service at pools/bars whereas you’ve always got to queue yourself. The sunbed situation is what it is, 8:15 isn’t that early to get yourself a sunbed and they do enforce that time. Splash pool is good. Overall comparable to many other resorts it competes with. Would recommend for a family holiday.

The first part of the review is a bit of a rant so bare with! but certainly doesn’t reflect our time there as a whole. My girlfriend and I booked this trip in June and unfortunately there was no option to upgrade our room so we had to opt for an inland view room (this becomes important later on). We arrived at the hotel quite late due to delays at the airport and upon arrival were met by the incredibly friendly staff who got us booked in and informed us that they had left some food in our room because of our long journey which I felt was a really nice touch, we were taken to our room 2514. To call this room inadequate is an understatement, more like a prison cell, when we first walked in the smell of strong cleaning product and damp hit me like a truck, at this point I didn’t care because I was so tired so just went to bed. However waking up in the morning the reality of the situation sank in and I couldn’t imagine spending an entire week in that room for the money we paid, for reference the room is very cramped and the balcony has a staircase right in front of it and then a view of the side of the main building offering no privacy and made it feel even more confined, we then went to our TUI meeting where I raised my concerns with our TUI rep who we felt dismissed our concerns and told us “not everyone will have a good view, people have got rooms facing over the car park” honestly a view over the car park would be luxury over this room, however she said she would speak with customer relations to see if we could change rooms or be upgraded, I found her tone very condescending throughout and got the feeling she felt we were the sort of customer that complains over small issues to make a fuss which we certainly aren’t and I usually take the approach of making the most of a situation even if it isn’t ideal. Following this conversation I had very little hope she would come through with any solution so my partner went to reception herself to see if they could help and spoke with David who told her he would go and see what he could do, whilst waiting we received a text from the TUI rep stating that due to how busy the hotel was there was no availability for a change or upgrade which was strange because David then came back and offered us an upgrade to a sea view room at the cost of €180. Which I thought was more than reasonable and we happily accepted as we still had another 6 nights. However we felt incredibly disappointed that the TUI rep either didn’t bother following our issue up or lied to us about the availability and to add further she saw us numerous times throughout the holiday and ignored us and never bothered to check in with us on how things were. And for clarity Room 2514 should not be offered as a room to guests and is certainly not 5*, please see photos below it appears to be the only room like it within the resort and appears to have been an afterthought when building and it’s just been shoved in to create more revenue. We were at the hotel for 8 days with children. The hotel is amazing and the staff was very very kind and charming. When we announced that we had a celiac daughter, they went out of their way to help and assist us so that she would eat like everyone else and would not lack for anything. Special thanks to the man who came to ask what she wanted to eat every day. In short, an excellent hotel including facilities, pools and more... Amazing staff including the waiters, any additional words are unnecessary. Thank you for what we received.

The hotel was excellent the food was outstanding. My only slight grumble was the rules around the pool times, and inflatables. Also our room smelt of sewage at times. The overall hotel and staff were outstanding. You must go to the spa and have a massage with Dimiteris I have a frozen shoulder and he really helped with that.

the burger club restaurant was delicious, the staff were genuinely helpful and attentive to your needs and the food was tasty would 100% recommend!!

Amazing massage with Dimitrius. Feeling very relaxed and a lot less tense. Would definitely recommend really wonderful experience on holiday. Dimitrius was super friendly and made me feel very relaxed throughout making sure I was comfortable.
