It's a typical motel, there are several shops and restaurants nearby. The room was clean and tidy... The people who stayed there were not that great, but if you don't expect great things it's a place where you can stay calm.... It's suitable for staying a few days because they don't clean the room or make the bed while you're there, so if you have to stay there for a week you have to clean it yourself but when I'm on vacation I definitely don't do that...

I would strongly advise against staying at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Maingate Central. This was by far the worst accommodation we had during our stay in Florida this month. The check-in staff was friendly, but I was unpleasantly surprised by a higher price than what I had booked via Trip.com. Apparently, there was an additional Covid-19 surcharge, which I find quite outdated.
The property itself is in a state of severe disrepair and poor maintenance. The beds were uncomfortable, creaked when lying down, and provided little rest. I read a review mentioning cockroaches, and while I’m not entirely sure if that’s true, I did notice something crawling across the ceiling during the night that could very well have been one.
The towels were dirty, and there were tattered bedspreads on the bed — definitely not professional. Breakfast is served from 6:00 to 8:30 AM, which is far too early for anyone on vacation with a family. The room was reasonably clean, but overall, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone looking for more than just a simple place to sleep.
On a positive note, the staff during check-out was very friendly, which was a nice touch after such a disappointing stay.
