Scotland Paradise Relax Accommodation by Shooting Club Kirriemuir

Arrived late, with my dog as company - at around 10:00pm, and uncomfortably hungry. The hosts set to work and served up a restaurant quality plateful of fresh ravioli in a cream sauce, served with fresh bread.... absolutely perfect. I had my own beer which served me well, but there were also alternative accompaniments on offer. An extra treat was the delight of dining outside in the gloaming of the Angus glen that the Scotland Paradise Relax rests in. I watched as the sun dipped below the hill tops, and it felt very spoiled. My bedroom was large, furnished with the vernacular Scottish furniture you’d expect. Four steps to the shared bathroom, but feeling very secure. The shower was excellent, and the housekeeping throughout was clearly executed with pride. My dog settled without distraction on her blanket and I was soon asleep. The buildings are workaday, and although built as utilitarian farm cottages, offer quite roomy accommodation. It is their location that elevates this glorious place to the fabulous. Breakfast - unbelievably, was even better than the dinner. An enormous plate that groaned under the weight of sausages, mushrooms, eggs, bacon, tomatoes and hash browns (I’d rather have a wee tattie scone). Served with fresh fruit juice, and a smile. Sachets and sauces were provided, with butter and warm bread. Fresh fruit too! I had brought coffee bags of my own, and all was perfect. Again, the sun shone as I breakfasted outside, gazing upon the cattle that grazed below, while listening to a skylark - invisibly calling for its mate in warm air above. The sincere and fulsome welcome from Alessandro and Olga - the attentive hosts - is what impresses, and lingers most in my memory. All in all, a place to bookmark for return. The bed was a little soft for me, but I slept very soundly.

Lovely location - fantastic food - nothing was too much trouble even catered for me as a coeliac. Great hosts!! Beds really comfortable and bathrooms spotless. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back next year.
