Reasonably clean motel. Slightly worn furniture and bathtub. Standard breakfast items. Very helpful and pleasant staff (front desk, cleaning staff). Very good air conditioners in the room. Good, large TV. Nice to have Chili's on site. The Chili's bar tender very helpful with food selection and drinks. Very affordable compared to some of the surrounding higher rated motels. Steak house, White Castle, and Dunkin Donuts all within walking distance.

We always loved this hotel, next to a Dunkin’ Donuts, a WalMart behind us, I44 within blocks. We have stayed here every year for many years, family lives in Crestwood and Fenton. This year, things were different. We walked in and the lobby was chaos, teenagers throwing balls from the open 2nd floor to friends in the lobby. We ducked through that, attempted to get to our room, to find teens riding the elevators up and down, telling us there was no room. We finally got on anyway. The room. The tub did not drain when we took showers. The tv did not work at all. The Internet was terrible, we tried watching movies that were already loaded on our iPads, and they kept stalling. The toilet paper holder came off of the mount. My bed was not level and tilted towards the left. The breakfast. The first day we tried. There were about four lumps of scrambled eggs, and five sausage links, hard as a rock. Some fruit, no bananas. I saw one woman with one, I asked and was told they were out. We ate at Dunkin’ Donuts the rest of the week. The place is in ill repair. The air conditioning was awesome though. The temp outside was 95 and super humid, but we were a chill 65 degrees. Thankful for the small things. I long for the old days. We always loved that place. Sorry not coming back.

Room and public spaces where updated and pool was OK (needs some repairs but worked fine and much appreciated in the hot weather). Gym was disappointing, one of the two cardio machines broken, very limited number dumbs (pairs 30lbs+ but only a single 25 and some 5s). Breakfast was the biggest bust, in theory it sounds decent (eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, bagels, muffins, cereal, toast, even pancakes); however the pancake machine was broken all 3 days, hot chocolate was out 2 of the 3, one day there was no milk or cereal. No caffeine free tea, the apple juice was out all 3 days, coffee was not good. I will say the woman working the breakfast area was diligent and thorough; doing her best within the limits management seemed willing to fund. I never try to expect too much from these breakfasts but considering what this could have been, it fell way short. We did not use them but there is onsite laundry (coin operated) which is a nice option.

We have been staying at the Kirkwood Inn for decades and had always appreciated how well it was run and maintained. That has changed dramatically. Apparently the hotel was bought out by a company that is greedy as it now is poorly maintained. The staff is great and do their best but there is only so much they can do without ownership support.

Beware: Booked 2 nights only stayed for 1 Sheets in 1st room had yellow stains Got 2nd room floors were filthy white socks turned black Towels were stained, some kind of greasy stain on headboards. Air did not work only go down to 70 and wall picture was not secured and fell off almost hitting us. Outside site is overgrown on north side and water line leaking on pool side. The dead bird on south exit door did it for us. this hotel has been in decline since our last visit last year. Owner need not reply they know what needs to be done.

All Rooms need microwave! 1st room had greasy feeling floor carpet! , although receptionist was kind and allowed exchange of room. Rate was too high compared to other hotels I have visited in past ! More renovation needed on bathtubs. Clean white tub is expected in bathrooms. Old mold looking stain was not desired to put your feet in. Nice scenic view and exceptionally nice staff! Staff very quick to resolve your concerns concerns. Rusty areas in bathroom hopefully will be updated. Overall, loved the staff! Very nice and hard working people. Breakfast menu needs to be extended with more options. Also the hot tub was colder than the pool. Spectrum should of been onsite getting the smart TV Channels up and running with all apps.
