Days Inn by Wyndham Kirksville

It may have been a decent hotel in its “heyday” but now, if I had to do it over; I would have paid a little more to stay elsewhere.

The check-in was great and we had a minor issue about checking in and they solved it instantly. Breakfast was an absolute minimum. In fact, it was pitiful. Room was clean and warm even though the cover over the heater was messed up.

I won't call it terrible because at least the room appeared clean. However, one is greeted with terribly dirty and faded entry rugs which set the tone. The space between the entry doors was filthy and had a sack of ice salt that had to have been sitting there for weeks because we haven't had winter weather for a while and it is late March in MO. Inside there is a very open area that was probably quite nice at one time but it was full of plants in various stages of slow death with dirty pot exteriors. Even the couch cushions had the zipper side of half the cushions to the outside. Inside of the elevator was dirty and finger printed, and the walls and doors in many areas were chipped and banged up. The hallway may have recently been painted. Ice machine only on first floor and it was broken. Again, room seemed clean enough but the shower head was loose in the wall and the bathroom overall was outdated and very cramped. Breakfast was pitiful and not as advertised in pictures.

I can envision a time in the late 90s where this was a really nice hotel. Now it is like your grandpa after choring the barn: tired, dirty and full of foul smells you can't quite identify.

If they took care of it this place would be nice

Very dirty. Bar closed (bartender did not show up for work). Bathroom was a crime scene of filth.
