Visited yesterday to sample their special Burns Supper Menu. Excellent in every way, well done Chris and team! Possibly the best Cock a Leekie Soup I’ve ever had, the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties were perfect and served with a lovely jug of Jus on the side and then finished off with a small plate of Scottish Cheese and Oatcakes. All for under Twenty Pounds what’s not to like?

The Selkirk Arms Hotel was even better than I'd expected. Our room was large, quiet, clean, & very comfortable with an excellent bed & comfy bedding. The beautiful dining room, breakfast room, & garden was an unexpected plus & the breakfasts & dinner we had was very good. I'm so happy we stayed there.

Having arranged to meet friends visiting from down south, we decided to book a table, and so glad we did. From the warm welcome to the wonderful food, nothing could be faulted. We will definitely be back and would heartly recommend to anyone. Thanks for making a great night even more special.

Where do I begin. I booked the restaurant on line for my birthday treat. When we arrived we were met with a lovely welcoming smile and led to our table. It took a few moments to realise the table had been decorated with a Happy Birthday sign and card. Next we were offered a celebratory drink which was also totally unexpected. What followed was a most exceptional meal, great service, a very hospitable host in Chris the owner and an all round wonderful experience. We will be calling in again before the week is out for drinks. There is also a beautiful secluded beer garden for those who like the fresh air.

Having been ‘told off’ arriving five minutes behind the booked time I’m afraid we decided to dine elsewhere. We were shocked and upset by the arrogant behavior of the manager. A very unacceptable experience, and an incredibly poor standard of hospitality.

We stayed 2 nights and liked everything about this hotel, its staff, its garden and its restaurant. Room 8 was spacious and comfortable, nice seating area included (the squeaky floorboards adding age and character to an updated room in an old building). We ate dinner in one evening and enjoyed it very much. Good, locally sourced food nicely cooked and served in a very nice room. Breakfasts were excellent- the full Scottish enough to feed you for the day! We were blessed with lovely weather, so were able to sit in the garden with a cool drink and enjoy the flowers and shrubs. A real bonus. A lovely hotel in a lovely town!

Late booking. Fantastic welcome, Lovely upstairs room, No 3. With separate seating area. Booked in for a wonderful diner. Coped with various dietary issues. Everyone was so friendly. Breakfast was equally good. Next time we stay for more than one night. Great location. We did not use, but lovely outdoor seating area.
