The Black Horse Inn is our most favourite country retreat in Yorkshire. From the moment you park up and check in you are most welcome, especially as we are regular guests. This particular visit was shared with our grown up children and my brother-in-law to celebrate our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. I’d like to thank Steve and the team (old hands as well as the new faces) for the excellent customer service, from booking rooms, accommodating the family dogs, to the warm welcome and excellent food from the kitchen team. A special mention to Mark, the bar manager, who remembers our drinks orders from one stay to the next. You’re a legend! Looking forward to seeing you all again.

WOW! Absolutely lovely, from the greeting we received at reception to paying the bill and leaving. The food was first class, I had the Parmo and my son had the Sirloin steak, both with chips/fries and mixed salad, i then proceeded to have a very naughty chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream and toffee sauce. Really pleasant friendly staff, well worth a visit, and I will definitely be going back.

My family and I stayed in the family room at the Black Horse Inn in Northallerton from the 6th to the 9th of July, and I can honestly say the level of customer service we received was nothing short of exceptional—truly unlike anything I've experienced before. I've travelled extensively, staying in some of the most luxurious seven-star hotels from Dubai to New York, but the care and hospitality at the Black Horse Inn surpass them all. Jake and Dave, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully attended to, from the welcoming coffee and juice at the start of our trip, to the beautifully prepared breakfasts, and the special care taken with our luggage. Nothing felt too much trouble; every request was handled with genuine warmth and efficiency. The inn itself is absolutely charming. A lovely, quaint setting full of character. I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful touches throughout the room, such as the hot chocolate, the carefully selected toiletries, and the décor that perfectly complemented the overall theme of the inn. Everything from the curtains and cushions to the bathroom hooks felt curated and intentional. Who would have thought such a rare find existed in a small town like Northallerton? Thank you from our hearts!

We were treated by our lovely friends to a surprise overnight stay here. From the moment we arrived we were all looked after. The staff were very attentive, the food was beautiful and the rooms are fantastic. A big shout out to Chantelle who helped make our stay as lovely as it was.

Very comfortable and friendly pub with excellent dinner. Service very attentive and prompt. Lovely room and bathroom. Our stay was just let down by breakfast buffet which was very limited. Granola and better fruit selection would have been nice. Overall 4 star.
