We were made to wait until exactly 3pm to check inn when the room was available at 2.15pm.
We went to the room and it wasn't the room that we booked, you couldn't swing a cat in it. So the photos of the room were different to the actual room.
We gave the keys back and said we weren't staying in that room, so we went home.
Very disappointed

Afternoon tea at The Venue is gorgeous! Scampi & Wedges, Sourdough bread with onion bhaji, chutney and mint sauce, southern fried chicken & aioli, Halloumi & humous then chocolate brownie, waffle bites with caramel syrup and a lovely fruit scone with jam and clotted cream. The staff are very friendly and attentive, would highly recommend.

Really good value but lacking in atmophere. The grounds are nice but the bar was dead! Shame as it could be nice. I think it was run by students and they didn't seem to be there. It was hard to find the reception as the signs are not obvious . These are clearly student accomodation so don't expect a hotel/ apartment.

The rooms were clean, the kitchen well equipped and surroundings were lovely. The staff at the bar were a bit unfriendly. We were a bit disappointed that the bar had decided to close at 8.30 pm on a Saturday night and there was nowhere else to go nearby. The shop had closed at 8 pm despite the sign saying it was open to 10 pm. It just felt odd and we left disappointed. Wouldn't go again.

Really nice serviced apartment lovely fresh and clean comfy bed and soft pillows. Shared kitchen which is great you can make a brew of cook if you need to. The surronding area is lovely. We were going to a gig at The Picturedrome on Holmfirth booked a taxi all perfect. ideal for a weekend stay. I would stay here again

Attended a private function at The Venue, excellent food and the service was exemplary. Was impressed with the vegetarian option. Would like to visit again for coffee and possibly lunch when in the area again.

We found this jem to stay while separating the life of my wife's late uncle Philip. So many things stand out at this hotel. Amazing food. fantastic breakfast. Beautiful rooms. But it's the staff that makes your stay memorable. There enthusiasm makes the place electric. The lovely Sofia checked us in with a smile that made you feel glad to be alive..well done to you all. Wish I had got all your names. But we will be back.

Poor service, waited an hour just for some chicken skewers. The burger was good but the tacos were plain and the service was slow and uninviting, there was just 1 other table who had food and the staff were just chatting the whole time. This is nothing more than a polished up student bar, run by students.

My daughters wedding was held recently at the Venue. We could not fault the service offered by Olivia & her team both with the preparation & on the day. The food both at the wedding & the evening celebration was excellent. I have no hesitation whatsoever to highly recommend the Venue
