The staff were outstanding; genuine, friendly, approachable, helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and,appointed, not at all cluttered. The beds were very comfortable, with super pillow choice,and,quality. We had a memorable evening meal, utterly delicious and,served, with skill and kindness. We had been to a very high end hotel in St Mawes the night before and the restaurant service there was not a touch on the Crown and Garter.

Excellent clean, comfortable, quiet en-suite bedrooms arranged around a lovely courtyard. Very good breakfast, friendly efficient staff. We enjoyed a tasty evening meal in the restaurant with a good variety of choices, and quality flavourful courses. Wine menu was equally varied but on the expensive side.

We booked the Crown and Garter to host our 25th Wedding Anniversary Party for 30. A number of family members were travelling so the fact there are 10 rooms was very appealing. We booked all the rooms, which are arranged around a beautiful court yard and had sole use of the restaurant for the evening. Rooms are available from 3pm so we were able to catch up with guests in the afternoon as they arrived. Organising the event was really easy; Luke the Manager listened to our ideas, was accommodating and guided us through. On the day everything ran like clock work. The venue, the courtyard and the rooms are all beautifully maintained, the restaurant and Staff were outstanding - nothing was too much trouble and the food was exceptional. All the guest only had good things to say about it. We were able to have drinks in the beautiful courtyard before moving through to the restaurant which was a lovely touch. This is a hidden gem of a venue for parties and I would highly recommend.

On arrival we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, all with a smile on their faces and this continued for the duration of our stay. The room was ideal with a good ensuite, large bed and plenty of storage. Also very clean. All 10 rooms open onto a well kept courtyard garden which was perfect as a sunny spot to read or have a coffee. Food was fabulous, in both the restaurant and bar/ beer garden. If we return to the area then this is we're we'll stay. Perfect!

Lovely little pub with outdoor covered seating and garden seating. We ate lunch here with the my wife and another couple. Positives: friendly staff, ambiance, mushy peas (like purée garden peas, lovely), chips to die for. Negatives: battered fish was over-cooked, dry and unseasoned, covered in a thick, doughy batter. Burger was well cooked but had no flavour - under seasoned and bland. We gave this feedback to the staff (post-meal) who apoligised but didn’t seem too concerned. If the food improved I’d come back, but really not worth the money. There are many places nearby with much better food.

The cafe is consistently a disaster . Staff stay for 5 minutes , you order breakfast followed by “ kitchen closed “ .. after the money has been taken . Such a shame this place is such a disaster for customer service . It can’t be that hard to find a chef that wants to work …

Excellent bistro pub with rooms. Rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable with all amenities. Had a late Sunday lunch, delicious food & good service. Definitely be back. The rooms share a beautiful courtyard with tables & chairs to use.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on our way home to Kent from Somerset and it was truly a joy. Our welcome was genuinely warm and friendly (particular shout-out to Holly!) and the whole feel of the place was one of relaxed efficiency. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful dinner in the lovely garden followed by a quick stroll and a really good night in our light clean modern room with its fantastic shower and very comfortable bed. Thanks all for a lovely visit!

We received excellent service from the staff here, who were prepared to go the extra mile and kept the kitchen open for us on a Sunday afternoon after a no-doubt, very hectic Fathers' Day. Can highly recommend. Food was great and nothing too much trouble. Hope to go back again soon!
