We went to the hotel for a last minute family lunch. Great service. Staff were very efficient. Met Sabina the GM and she was an absolute pleasure. Food was amazing also! Would highly recommend and will definitely return for a stay here very soon.

Hotel is in a good location. Staff were professional , efficient, and helpful. Food is very good. Just 2 issues that let the hotel down. No lift for guests staying on the upper floor and the room I booked. Room was listed as a Deluxe but we found it to be small with two windows in a corner that looked out to a wooden fence. When the windows were opened in the late afternoon there was a smell of cooked food that entered the room. This represented poor value for money in relation to the room. Breakfast was very good and the bar area is pleasant and comfortable.

From start to finish our stay at the blue haven was superb. We had a slight hiccup on our last stay and Sabina the manager more than made up for this with a lovely room and some bubbly when we arrived. It only got better from there as we had a yummy seafood tower while sampling kinsale's own gin. We finished off the evening then with some music in the bar and an evening walk. This mornings breakfast was 5 star so we are set up for another wonderful day in Kinsale. Special thanks to Sabina and everyone who took such good care of us. We will be back.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay as the room was very small, despite being labelled a "deluxe" room. I had requested a nice room as we were celebrating my wifes birthday, if this was a nice room, I'd hate to see the others! The room was very dated with scuffs and marks on all the walls and the shower didn't work at all due to low water pressure The skylight in the roof made the room very bright early in the morning despite the flimsy blind being closed. The mattress needs to be replaced also! We didn't sleep well due to noise from other rooms as the soundproofing is non existent, we could hear peoples conversations and also noise from birds on the roof from dawn onwards.. The only positive was the quality of the breakfast! We won't be returning! We would have mentioned this upon checkout but there was no one at reception.

We were hoping for a better stay. The place was filthy (hallway and the room). The room needs a refresh like the lamps, carpet, bathroom, hairdryer. The breakfast was so-so. Management needs to reassess how their staff is trained to help them manage questions as well.

We visited Kinsale in January, so did NOT make advance reservation. The Blue Haven had available rooms, and put us in a room of one of 2 buildings, located in the center of town on Pearse Street. We had breakfast the following morning at the Blue Haven restaurant. Nice quaint hotel room and nice location in town. Of special note is that we received a personized card from the Manager minutes after entering our room. Our room was on second floor which had an overlooking view of Pearse Street.
