unmatched personal hospitality - made us feel at home instantly with all the touches we could have wanted and many we didn't even know we needed! Grainne and Paddy were wonderful hosts - beautiful room with thoughtful accents and a very comfortable bed!

Kinsale is the place to stay when in the Cork area and within a 5 minute walk to pubs, restaurants and shops is the elegant yet cosy Desmond Townhouse. Hosts Gráinne and Paddy are gracious and simply lovely to talk with. Their 240 year old home has 4 en-suite rooms, each of them large with modern baths. Breakfast in the sunny dining room includes homemade breads, scones and yogurt compotes as well as egg options, sausage and delicious black & white puddings. Very highly recommend and thank you Gráinne and Paddy for your kind hospitality!

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the owners! I highly recommend you stay here when visiting Kinsale. The location is so quiet and yet a short walk to everything. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well equipped. Parking was easy to find. The hosts are so kind and generous. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. We stayed two nights and wish we could have stayed longer! Kinsale was such a wonderful stop on our visit to Ireland. I can’t wait to return and will gladly stay at Desmond House again. Book it!

Desmond Townhouse is lovely, as are the hosts. The rooms are large, unique and comfortable. It’s a 90 second walk to the middle of town but the B&B’s neighborhood is quiet. It’s an easy walk to the harbor, restaurants and historic buildings. Grainne and Paddy are as welcoming as can be. Breakfast was excellent and highlighted by Grainne’s homemade scones. There are only a few rooms but you will be doing yourself a favor if you can get one for a visit to Kinsale.

Desmond Townhouse is in an excellent location in Kinsale. There are many fine coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and shops close to the B&B. Our room was large and well appointed; we had more than enough room and had a very pleasant stay. I challenge you to find a better breakfast at a B&B; all of the food was on point. Gráinne is an excellent chef. She baked outstanding scones and she made the extra effort to bake us delicious soda bread for our last breakfast. Gráinne and Paddy could not have been more gracious hosts; they are engaging and very friendly. We had a great time in Kinsale, largely because we stayed at Desmond Townhouse. I highly recommend Desmond Townhouse if you are planning to visit Kinsale.

Centrally located, the house and rooms are beautifully designed and appointed and the service was impeccable! I highly recommend the traditional Irish breakfast and try the black pudding and white pudding. Gráinne’s homemade scones and soda bread are second to none. Paddy’s directions for the Ring of Kerry were spot on. We had a delightful time and can highly recommend Desmond House!

Recently had a wonderful stay in this charming bed and breakfast! Our suite was lovely and the breakfast was delicious with multiple options. Desmond House was within walking distance of many great restaurants and pubs. Our hosts were delightful and very accommodating! They really gave it a special touch! Appreciated the tips about where to go in Kinsale and how to get places. Highly recommend a visit!

We had the pleasure of staying with Grainne and Paddy at their wonderful B&B, the Desmond House. Despite staying right at the end of the tourist season, our hosts were an absolute pleasure, the breakfasts (and conversation with our hosts) outstanding, and the rooms with their wonderfully high ceilings spacious and clean. We totally recommend the Desmond House for your visit!!!

Desmond House was such a wonderful stay! Hosts couldn't have been nicer or more helpful - so full of suggestions and hints for our visit. Room was cozy and breakfasts were delicious. We were the only guests one of the mornings and felt so cared for. Would love to go back and visit again.
