The location and sanitation are very good, that is, the furniture is a bit less, and there is no place to put things. In addition, the hotel displayed an address on the webpage. The windows could be cleaned from time to time. The same goes for the hallway, where pigeons nest on the ledge and the windows are dirty. The hotel has a dingy character, which the entrance area also contributes to. The bathroom should have a brush for the toilet. The towels should be checked for residue before being placed; some of them looked very dirty, with indefinable stains. If a kettle and packaged coffee powder (old) are provided, perhaps a bottle of mineral water should also be provided for the price. The breakfast was nothing, the price was excessive. I suspect the scrambled eggs were made of powder, the sausages were old (fried a long time ago), hard. Bacon too, with cold white fat residue. Everything was cold anyway. Otherwise there was no cheese or slices of sausage. On the second day it was probably the leftover sausages and bacon etc. from the day before. The only thing that was OK was the coffee machine.

Fantastic location so close to Surbiton station meant after a speedy check in was able to get the train into london to catch a show. Parking was available not too far away and as we had to rush for a train our luggage was taken to our room ready for our return. The room was clean and bed extremely comfortable with a fab jacuzzi style bath. The spread at breakfast in the morning was delicious, and whilst there was no cooked option, what was available was delightful. Fresh juices - orange/apple, yoghurts, granola compotes, cereal, bread/toast/bagels/muffins, cold meats, cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, cucumber, cook your own boiled eggs with timers, fresh fruit - apples/bananas/satsumas/grapes, croissants/pastries, freshly prepared choice of coffees and teas. Set us up for the day of sightseeing! Every interaction with staff was professional, helpful and genuine! All with a smile 🙂

Totally recommended 100% This was our third visit to Warwick Lodge. Once again great stay. Great location, very clean, friendly reception. Easy going and accommodating. Free parking literally on the door step. Quite rooms. All you could wish for for at the cost.. great value for money. Will definitely return 👍👍👍

Stayed here for 5 nights (Sep 17-22). Check in was the better part: easy and friendly front desk although no acknowledgment of being a Bonvoy member (not big deal). However, I forgot to ask, and they did not give me the WiFi code; more on that later. Room was fine upon entering. But then started to notice things: dead light bulb, dust on the nightstands, top of the desk with peeled skin (wear and tear), and of course the TV. Now that is something from the 1990s: a 30 inch old TV, grainy picture, and a very limited number of channel with only BBC and a couple showing very old movies from 1980s. You can only watch SkySports at the bar but not in the room. The next day I ended up taking a shower in a puddle as the tub did not drain well. I told the front desk and the staff who happened to be the manager took very good notes and said he’d have it fixed right away. Well, after coming back in the evening, I checked the tub and sure enough still clogged so went down to the front desk and another staff member (appeared very embarrassed) spent a few minutes and then offered to change the room. So, after about 30 min fiddling with the reservation system on their computer we moved into another room. For some odd reason my 5-day visit was done under two reservations: 4 days as one and the last day as another one. On the 4th day reception called to move me into a suite due to the 2nd reservation. I talked to the Front Desk staff and offered that staying at the same room for the same rate was fine. The junior staff agreed as the room was available and started processing but then ran into a problem on their computer system. He asked his manager for help and he promptly rushed by, summarily waved his hand, completely ignored my presence, mumbled something like “it can’t be done,” and walked away. The junior staff was clearly embarrassed and apologized and said he'd ask another hotel manager to keep me in the same room. I asked for the manager’s name (Lloyd) and said that his behavior was rude, not professional, and not that of somebody in the hospitality business. Lloyd showed up after the room situation was resolved and apologized for his behavior. Frankly, nobody needs drama, disrespect, and being treated like a nobody. After all, I was a paying guest and a long time Marriott member!! New room was a copy of the old room except the drain was not clogged. Then the next day I noticed the bathroom bulb was dead. Called the Front Desk from room, but nobody would pick up. Within a span of 30 min I called several times but nobody would pick up, so I walked down to report it to the Front Desk. Problem was solved next day. And now the WiFi: could not find the WiFi code so later called the Front Desk but again nobody would pick up. Another in person trip down to the Front Desk and asked why they wouldn’t pick up. Answer: oh, we didn’t see the phone ring! We booked this Holiday Inn at last minute due to a sporting event nearby. We recently stayed in another Holiday Inn which was excellent, so hoped that this would be the same. The on-site parking was also very important. On arrival at 3:30pm after paying for parking we were told at check in that the car parking space was not guaranteed to hotel guests. The hotel holds functions so it can get full in the evening, but not to worry there is a multi story car park a ten minute walk away!! We went to the rugby event not knowing whether we would be able to park at the hotel on our return. Our Executive room was a disappointment. The safe was not working, the wifi slow and inconsistent, the bed base was torn and the room generally needed a freshen up. It did appear clean. The room was not quiet. The room had a coffee machine as well a kettle etc for tea though No teabags. Only one bathrobe etc. Simple basics that were not right which were a disappointment. The reception staff were sympathetic, very helpful and we could sense their frustration that these simple things were not right.

I stayed here a couple of times but the last time was the last! I booked in and paid in advance then on the day, I checked in and offered my photo ID as I had done previously and it had been accepted before, however on this occasion I was refused check-in as they had now decided only a passport would be acceptable which I didn’t have. The unhelpful staff and then the manager offered no solution and just shrugged and said “nothing we can do”. It should again be noted that my photo ID was acceptable before but not now – it should also be noted that the confirmation email only requested “photo ID” which I provided. No specific ID was asked for. So it seems this hotel makes up the terms and condition s as they go and seemingly change them when they feel like it! The room had been paid for so there was no chance of my running off without paying. After some time I finally resolved this by my husband racing home and emailing a copy of the passport which was grudgingly accepted otherwise my I was looking at nowhere to stay after an early, start at 4 a.m., a very long day then finally the hopeless staff at this place refusing entry to a customer who had paid way in advance causing a lot of stress! The receptionist told me they needed the passport to verify the address – however my address is not in the passport so this is a bit confusing. The manager confirmed this as well as confirming no entry and no help. This is really terrible service as they could have easily verified the address with other documents I had but this was not accepted – my ID clearly showed me as senior management at a local large organisation but the staff were unhelpful and seemed totally disinterested that I would have nowhere to stay – this part of London gets booked quickly hence my booking way in advance so the likelihood of getting a room somewhere else was very remote. It would have been simple to verify me but the staff were more interested in being difficult. So my feeling is the staff had maybe screwed up with another customer and had decided to ad hoc changes to the terms leaving me almost stranded. It could also have been a method of releasing a room for someone else – maybe a friend of the hotel. Who knows but I would be very careful using this place as they seem to have some very dubious and “flexible” terms for staying here and you may get caught out. I will never book here again and as a vice president of a large global organisation that hosts many international clients, I would certainly not recommend this place. It's short sighted of this hotel to be so unhelpful as they will have lost business but their lack of help displays a clear lack of interest in the customer. Please book here if you are happy to risk sleeping on the park bench instead of a hotel room! Although I reviewed this hotel back in June, I thought I would give an update on our last, and definitely final, visit to this hotel. In July we stayed at the Sheraton for one night and parked our car at the hotel for 3 weeks. After midnight, when we had gone to bed, we heard a high powered car being revved and raced around the car park. Yes, someone was using the car park as a race track, using the cars parked there as the edges of the track! Someone else was taking pictures on their mobile phone. We contacted reception, who sent out a security guard and another member of staff. They, however, obviously knew the people racing the car and had a good laugh and joke with them before returning to the hotel, leaving the racers still revving their car and taking photos. I took photos too (attached). My wife was incensed by this total lack of interest from the hotel, and stormed down to reception. One of the people who had gone out to the car was there, plus the duty manager looking rather sheepish. They apologised with a grin on their faces and seemed to think that it was totally acceptable to them that this was going on as the people racing the car were members of staff!!! An incredible attitude. And it was obvious from their reaction that this was not a first time occurrence. Realising that we weren't going to get anywhere with the totally useless members of staff, and as by now the racers had left, we decided to raise the problems with a senior member of staff the following day. A couple of the managers we spoke to on the following day were disgusted at what had happened the previous night. Unfortunately they had already handed in their resignation as they weren't happy with the way the hotel is being run. So decide if you're happy to leave your car at a hotel that condones its staff using the car park as a race track and what damage they could do to your car. Remember, any damage to your car is not the responsibility of the hotel, even if it's their own staff who have caused the damage! Please read the other reviews regarding cars being damaged at this Hotel. I posted a review on the Marriott website and received a very defensive response from the front desk duty manager. She apologised for the fact that staff were racing cars in the car park but didn't seem to really take it seriously. This experience, combined with the non-working air conditioning in the bedrooms, the tvs in the bedrooms that often don't work, the gaffer-taped tatty old carpeting in the hallways, the scruffy pool area that is hardly ever swept clean, the downgraded quality of the Club Lounge and the withdrawal of the Club concierge service seems to be indicative of a company seeking to justify changing the branding of this hotel to one of Marriotts budget brands. However, they're still charging 4 star prices for a hotel that now struggles to give one star service. Shame on you Marriott for ruining a formerly very good quality hotel.
