I was just disappointed of the initial checkin as I got in my room my request was never made. Very simple. I ask the 2 single beds to be combined to make it bigger. But nope. The late checkouts despite of willing to pay extra was just as it is. I could pay an extra night if I have to if they said so but no. We were from night shift of work and finished at 7 am that we got to the hotel at 7:30 and after breakfast few minutes of rest then we slept off. We got a call at 11 telling us about the checkout and told them I have already asked for the late checkout for extra charges but its only for 2 hours. Nothing more. The attendant started banging the door telling us to checkout as she needed to changed the sheets and so on and so for. We find it really rude.

We are local to the area and visit the restaurant occasionally. We decided to visit for Sunday lunch, for the two course special. My husband and myself both had the beef and it was really nice, very tender and better quality than other restaurants that we have paid double the price. The sweet was lovely. I had a voucher for a free drink too. We were very impressed and it was excellent value for money. We will definitely visit again for Sunday lunch. All the members of the team we encountered were pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended.

We arrived in the evening and reception was empty, but we were quickly assisted by a friendly receptionist and allocated a good sized bedroom with a very quiet outlook onto a garden area The room was clean with wardrobe hanging space, iron and ironing board, en suite bathroom. Coffee and tea plus kettle were supplied (a fav of mine). No fridge, so the milk was in small sachets. The bed was a good size and comfortable and, even though the room was a bit stuffy at night, we were able to open the window and it was quiet. We requested extra towels, milk and coffee/tea and the receptionist was helpful and friendly. We went to the restaurant in the evening (food served until 9) and ordered a burger and sea bass. Good price although the quality was a little lacking. It was very much a menu of burgers, fish and chips. My sea bass was the exception. Tasty, but basic. We didn't bother with breakfast, There is a Sainsburys over the road which is good for fresh pastries. croissants etc. There is also a Greggs, petrol station and a Spa. We thought the hotel was very good value. I booked well in advance and so got a very good price. I think, if we were in the area again we would definitely stay. The staff made this place a very pleasant place to stay, but don't go for cordon bleu cooking.

Never ever felt the need to leave accommodation, until today. Welcomed by pub team as short staffed at reception, no problems there. Walked into corridor to get to the rooms and the smell of damp and old cigarettes/smoke was horrid, had to cover my mouth. Got to the room, same again, old outdated and smelly. Such a shame. Went to the pub next door to see how family in the other room felt as we had 2x rooms booked, and they felt the same, restaurant wasn’t the best, had to change cutlery as food on there from previous visitor. Never had to do this but unfortunately had to make an excuse and come away, smoke and damp was getting on my chest and it wasn’t a clean hotel. There was old dried up toothpaste on the duvet, which also had hairs from previous guest and holes in sheets, didn’t even move the duvet to check what was underneath.

Large bed suitable for sleeping and more Decent hotel in a good location, big bed to enjoy myself with the husband and wife threesome I organised through Tinder. Stayed their for three nights and staff were nice, didn't eat in the place as its cheap food. My guests were happy with the room whilst we entertained ourselves.
