Some of the reviews on here are a little negative but we found this a lovely place to visit. So much so that we had dinner twice there and intend to return again when we come back to this beautiful part of the world. It might be a different story when they are busy in the Summer, but we were served quickly and the food was delicious. The landlady and her daughter were very friendly and welcoming and we look forward to returning soon.

The Scott Arms have just done my family proud!! Just had my fathers wake there, he had a long association with the pub and village. They laid on lovely food, attentive service and all done with a kind personal touch that went beyond a business transaction. The staff were lovely .........I couldnt speak more highly.....Excellent!!!

The location is stunning (sweeping views across to Corfe Castle and Poole). A cool Autumn evening so sitting out on the terrace wasn’t an option but we were still able to appreciate the view from our table. Great service - very attentive, welcoming but not intrusive. The food was excellent. All in all a lovely evening meal.

Arrived late in the evening but the staff squeezed our order in before the kitchen shut . We had fabulous burgers and chips which was much needed after a nine hour hike in the Purbecks! Best chips I’ve had in a long time. Friendly staff and fantastic views from the garden and bar.would visit again

This was our third stay at The Scott Arms, this time in Swyrehead. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is good and the views are amazing. However, I was extremely disappointed with the state of the bathroom. The picture featured on the website must have been taken some time ago. There is now thick mould / mildew in the grout round the shower and the shower hose is encased in mould. I would have hoped the owners would give their guests, paying £139 per night, the courtesy of cleaning this. It would not be a costly or time consuming endeavour. I would be ashamed if I ran this establishment and my bathrooms were that grubby.

We visited the Scott Arms as we were staying nearby in Air BNB - we went on Friday night and Saturday night both times we ate a meal. The Friday was a bit less busy as the weather wasn't as good as the Saturday so we sat inside the pub and had a meal with other family. On the Saturday it was just the two of us and we sat outside as the weather was sunny and warm and the views were outstanding. We also tried the outside menu of **** Chicken served from the outside bar area Everything was superb and would definitely visit this pub again - the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble

Pub garden and views are lovely on a summers day, although quite a lot of the tables and benches are tatty and falling apart. Menu limited to the usual pub fare - burgers, ham, egg & chips, fish & chips etc. Food was ok when it came. I have an issue with the NON-discretionary 10% service charge on any food (which is printed at the bottom of the menu). You have to order at the bar, so nobody actually serves you at your table, when we ordered we said we would happily pay the 10% once we had experienced the service but were told that it is basically the price of the food and the order can not be processed if we don’t pay the full bill. We just didn’t understand why the prices printed on the menu next to the specific items were not the correct prices in the first place. FOR THIS REASON WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO EAT HERE.

Lovely rooms, cleaned and well kept. Would recommend for 2 guests. Friendly staff and rustic charm. Nice to see they’ve kept it modern and fresh. Would love to go back again! Bathrooms cleaned thoroughly.
