Hochelaga Inn

Very good breakfast buffet, it is a 10 min walk from town centre, in a quiet location. This is an old hotel with history and character, so don’t expect 5 star mod cons snd you will enjoy your stay.

Lovely Inn in a large old Victorian. We haven't, in the past, chosen this type of lodging, but we are so glad we did. We booked the Frontenac Studio, which is in the lower level, below main floor....so there are stairs involved (there is no elevator, so for most rooms, you need to be able to manage stairs.) Character abounds, and will be the main word used to describe the Inn. I now underdstand why the breakfast was always mentioned in reviews. Not only is it special, but guests are allowed to take part. We had 3 guests who visited us from further west of Kingston and they happily joined us for breakfast before we all left for home. Their Continental breakfast included a charcuterie board, paired with croissants, fruit cups, yogourt/jam cups, apple danish, apples & oranges, as well as a toaster set off to one side with jams, peanut butter, cream cheese... coffee, tea, & hot chocolate were available all day. We received a reminder text while out in the evening that the office closes at 9:30 & we should use the code to get in (side entry to Receptoon, not front door)...customer service was amazing. Our bathroom was tiny with very limited space . A bit of a redesign would have helped . Overall beds super comfortable and nice old fashioned style hotel . Free parking which is a bonus in Kingston .
