Howard Johnson by Wyndham Kingston

This newly renovated motel over the past couple of months has some lovely comforts from new flooring (carpets removed), new cozy beds, and over refresh. They continue with additional renovations to the balance of rooms, including exterior refresh and an outdoor pool in the future (not yet). This motel is located to the picturesque downtown kingston core that is a 15 minute walk where you can literally eat or drink all the way down to the waterfront with various choices to meet every palate. Princess Street takes you all the way to the downtown waterfront. There are places to rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boards. Open market in springer Square, boat cruises and just overall plenty of sightseeing to be had. Check out the newly renovated howard johnsons motel as it is worth the stop for convenience and price. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while I was having surgery at KGH. The location is perfect and the staff were excellent.

Nice room, uncomfortable bed. Bed was not comfortable and they only have a sheet on the bed. Their is comforters in the closet but who knows how long they been in there.

Good value for an overnight A good standard motel room at a good price. One nice extra feature: a second sink outside the bathroom. We only stayed one night, so we didn't need to make use of the drawers and shelves, but we noticed there was lots of storage space provided. Although the room was generally clean, there was a bit of dust in one of the front corners. It was a 30-40 minute walk downtown: acceptable for this time of year, but maybe not in winter.
