Johnson Shore Inn

Staying at the Johnson Shore Inn truly felt like a home away from home. We especially enjoyed winding down each day in the cozy dining room, savouring delicious meals and great conversations with fellow guests. Our room was beautifully decorated, peaceful, and offered a perfect place to relax. The breakfast was enormous and delicious! The setting is stunning—perched on red cliffs with breathtaking sunsets every evening. Mel and Dave are fantastic chefs, so be sure to include at least one dinner during your stay (we were lucky to enjoy three!). A special highlight was the evening we were treated to oysters and bubbly before dinner—such a thoughtful touch. The spacious dining area offers individual tables for each party, so there's no need to worry about communal seating if that’s not your style. Don’t hesitate to book this charming inn—you’ll arrive as guests and leave feeling like part of the family.

We spent four days and three nights here. Our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful eastern view. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming. Breakfast was filling and tasty. We had dinner one night, and it was delightful as well. We chatted with various guests who all loved staying at the Inn. The hosts have two very friendly dogs that are extremely casual. There is a cat as well, but it kept its distance. You can also walk down to the rocky shoreline for some spectacular photos.

Beautiful location The weather was not the best for enjoying the location. The place was very comfortable. My only negative was that all rooms were upstairs was not easy when you have two suitcases to lug.

Absolutely stunning location and every bit as breathtaking as the pictures. My friend and I arrived late and got a call from Dave who left us a nice note and instructed us how we could let ourselves in. We stayed in room 5 which had a Queen and twin bed and a partial ocean view. What we loved: extremely clean, home-like atmosphere, lovely plentiful breakfast, cliffside location with stunning views, so quiet and peaceful, the perfect place to take a retreat! Dave was also a welcoming host who went out of his way to make things right when our luggage was mixed up with another guest’s and we had to drive to a nearby motel to get it back. What could be better: when you walk in, you are asked to leave your shoes on the rack and don house slippers from a basket of shared, used slippers. It would have felt cleaner and more hygienic to have a pair of new disposable hotel slippers for each guest. There was also no conditioner provided in the bathroom so we had to go without. The sheets on the Queen were lovely and smooth but the sheets on the twin were a bit rough for my taste.
