Good value B&B with friendly welcome. Alistair was helpful with providing us with a map, WiFi info and restaurant suggestions. The room was clean. The shower ensuite was perfect for our needs. Tea and coffee and hot chocolate in room with biscuits too. Good choice of breakfast with quality ingredients. In a quiet spot and great for exploring this area.

Excellent location for getting out and about the Derbyshire Dales! The hosts were very helpful and obliging. The room was nice if a little dated but very clean. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was very small and the lighting in it was not very bright. Choice of cooked breakfast was good. The only negatives for us was the late timing for breakfast (8.30-9.30) which we think should have been much earlier. The hosts did however let us have an earlier breakfast by prior arrangement (but not before 7.30am). The other negative was the very small size of the TV. We enjoyed our stay though.

Visiting this campsite, this place is a little dissapointing. They seem to be in it just for the money. At £20 a tent it's not worth it. The site lacks the attention to detail that you would expect for this kind of money. The showers should be free when you're paying extortionate site fees. The shower is £1 for 6 minutes, you get nothing for the first 2 minutes whilst the water heats up, showers are located in what looks like an extended pod. 2 toilets and 2 showers for male and female at each end of the pod. If you have children that need supervising, this is difficult, there isn't enough room in the cubicle for one person let alone an adult and child. When someone flushes a pan or turns on the tap, water pressure diminishes to a trickle. Parking for Tent people is in a field away from where you pitch although, the field where all the trees are, you can get your vehicle next to your pitch. Whilst I was here the prevailing wind was from the east and could be quite direct in your face. If you're in the trees you'll be sheltered. Your probably a good 10 minute drive out of town, nothing else nearby, when you drive to the site, it's like driving through an industrial estate, in town, lots of pubs, Castle Fish & Chip shop has reasonable prices.

Upon Arrival the owner greeted us with “I’ll be a minute, I’m sorting someone else out first” He then situated my cousin to a room and then quickly told him he had the wrong one and that room was meant for us. So we went to that room and started to unpack only to be abruptly told that in fact this room wasn’t ours either. He then took us to our room which was up 2 flights of stairs, separating us from all our family. The room was dated and small. It was clean but full of cobwebs and spiders (it’s the countryside so was forgiven and not mentioned) The toilet cistern was a macerator and I was informed about this when entering the room. We checked in just after 5pm and left to go to a family wedding in leek at 6.30. Pm, we hadn’t used to toilet in this time. We arrived back at 1am, undressed and made a cup of tea. And then used the toilet for the first time. Once I flushed it, it started to leak. And water was coming out from the back. I managed to put loads of towels down to try and stop the water and I ran downstairs to see if I could find someone. I then managed to ring a number and got through to the lady who was very rude to me on the phone and asked me if I had turned a switch off! I had no idea what the lady was talking about so she came up to our room. She then accused me of turning this said switch off which was situated at the back of the door. I had no idea it was even there! She got us some more towels and in the meantime my cousin came up to help. She told the lady that it wasn’t fair that I had been blamed and that I shouldn’t have to pay for our stay! The next morning I was again abruptly greeted by the owner, the man. He was aggressive towards me, saying we needed to get payment sorted right away. That I had told his wife the night before that I wasn’t paying! I started to get very upset as I hadn’t said that, it was my cousin and he was accusing me and accusing me of switching this switch off, which I did not! Raising his voice and telling me how much of an inconvenience the leak was to him. He was basically calling me a liar. I didn’t enjoy the rest of my stay. The breakfast wasn’t very nice. I had a nose bleed for the first time in my life with all the upset. and I just couldn’t believe that someone in that profession would speak to a paying customer like that. I would not return here and I did pay in full. £96 for an awful experience. I would have expected to be offered some sort of compensation or at least a sorry!

Stayed here for night with my children. Owners very friendly. I didn't have the electric leads so was given one by the owner. Clean toilets and showers. £1 for 6 mins. Lovely setting under the trees and a playarea for the children which mine loved. Beautiful views on the Peak District. BBQ area and pot washing shed. 1 mile or so from Buxton. Taxis and takeaway can be ordered from site. Unfortunately my battery died on my car whilst there for leaving a light on and the owner was more than happy to help to get it going again for me. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon 👍

Spent one night here and we will definitely go back. Very clean, quiet and a beautiful breakfast. We were welcomed by the host and shown to our room which was across the yard from reception. It had everything we needed. Breakfast was in the main house and there was a great choice. It is situated down a country lane just over a mile from the centre of Buxton. Great location and we would highly recommend.

Stayed one night in our camper van. Great site, electric hookups, heated shower and toilet area. Convenient for Buxton and walking in the Peaks. Try the Parks Inn at Harpur Hill 20 mins walk away. Agree the approach through the industrial estate is a little off-putting but it's good once you get there.

We stayed for a night whilst visiting Buxton, and were pleasantly surprised. The house is past the industrial estate but once you get past it, you can’t see it at all and it feels like you’re in the middle of the countryside. The road up to the house is a bit bumpy but it wasn’t difficult to use (we have a tiny car and it was fine) Rooms are comfortable; very clean. Very enjoyable cooked breakfast, with proper coffee, plus you can help yourself to granola, fruit, yogurt, juice and toast. Good vegetarian option too. The gentleman who checked us in and attended to the breakfast was wonderful and very helpful. Tip: oh You can walk to the Buxton Brewery within minutes from the Grange; the Buxton brewery has a small on site bar which we highly recommend! Overall, a very nice place.
