Breakfast: A few reviews mentioned basic but available breakfast options, including hot coffee, packaged dry items, and limited selections like bread, jam, and milk. While not elaborate, it met the needs of some guests for a quick meal.

Can’t get a receipt from the hotel for the room rate I paid!

I didn’t take any pictures because Highway 1 was not open from north to south and was closed after passing Big Sur, so I had to return to Carmel the same way. I originally planned to stay in San Simeon for the night, but now it was too late. I passed by Jincheng on the way and didn't want to be too late, so I stayed here for one night. It's a really simple store with shabby and old facilities.

The room is like a B&B worth 200 yuan in China. This review is mainly for the service. The service is really poor. There was no smiling face during the whole check-in process. I booked the wrong time due to the time difference. I booked the second night. I immediately contacted Ctrip to cancel and try again. I made a reservation for that night and checked in. However, the hotel did not reply to the agent's email and hung up the agent's call. I went to the front desk the next morning to explain the situation. The front desk said with a straight face that they would not tell me about this matter. The agent called them and waited until the afternoon of the next day before agreeing to refund the subscription. I don’t know how much hard work Ctrip and the agent put in during this period! A hotel that costs 200 US dollars is really not worth even 50 US dollars! Don't stay there! Spend money to buy bad things!

Very pleasant stay, right next to where we were supposed to be for AIDS/Lifecycle 2025. Receptionist was pleasant, they didn't try and price gouge us and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again. Free snacks and drinks in reception too.

At 11:30pm on May 12, 2025, we were woken up by some very aggressive knocking on our door. There were two large men saying they were management and asking why we had not checked out. As it was our second night and we had no issues previously, I of course did not open the door. The man speaking had no identification and the doors open directly outside so I thought someone was trying to get into our room to rob us. He had a thick accent and was difficult to understand but his anger was clear. Next, our phone rang with the same aggressive voice demanding to know my name. I was confused how they got the room number and refused to say anything since none of this made sense except that perhaps someone was trying to get us to leave the room to rob us. When I hung up, he called again. Finally, I unplugged the phone. I should have called 911 but since the harassment stopped, I assumed the criminals had left the premises and it would be a moot point. We lost a lot of sleep fearing we may be unsafe. The next morning, I approached the front desk to inform them that someone was going room to room trying to rob people in the middle of the night. The front desk clerk told me it was him knocking on the door the night before. He then rudely demanded my name again. It turns out that another staff member had somehow messed up the room numbers and marked us down in a different room. He was completely unapologetic and insisted on blaming the other employee repeatedly for making the mistake. I was very clear that he was the one with whom I was upset. I don’t remember the word “sorry” cross his lips at any point in time. It was our second night and we had received housekeeping so there was no reason for staff to think the room was unoccupied. I later told him that I would like a refund since he had handled the motel’s mistake in such a threatening and unprofessional manner. He shrugged and said “How?” in a way suggesting he didn’t know how to go about that. The manager’s name is Chandra. This man insisted he was not Chandra but I couldn’t tell if he was being truthful. I’ve seen other reviews that seem to be referring to this same man. It leads me to believe that he is either related to someone who owns the hotel or they have such a hard time finding staff that they have no choice but to keep their standards frighteningly low. Also, the coffee is undrinkable.
