We paid as much for two nights at the Grand as we did in a very nice hotel in Honolulu. Even though we had our "Please Clean Room" sign hanging on the door, they did not clean our room. I found housekeeping down the hall, asked for clean towels and they brought towels, toilet paper and soap then told me to leave our dirty towels in the hallway outside the door and they would pick them up. I did that, and the towels were still there the following morning. There was thick dust on either side of the the mirror in the restroom and the seal on the shower door was covered in mold. There was dust and hair in all the corners. Disgusting. Will not stay there again.

Let’s start with the good. Pleasant staff. Clean hotel. Clean ******** area. Restaurants also were clean. The staff was pleasant everywhere and check-in was easy. Food was GOOD at the Noodle House and the Steakhouse. BAD: THE PLACE WAS FREEEEEEEEZZZZZING. And I like things cold! Let me break down per area. Let me start with the pool. First off, they don’t have enough rafts to float down the lazy river. Staff said they were “ordered.” Pool season is almost over…….. 2. They NEVER cleaned the pool area. There were towels and trash everywhere 3. The pool itself needed some maintenance, starting with the missing tiles along the lazy river. 4. They had 3 staff sitting on their butt doing literally NOTHING where people come in. Those people could have been cleaning up and picking up towels and discarded drinks, etc. They had food on the counter where people came in, and two were slouched down with their feet up. 5. The bar was crowded, had a missing panel with exposed wires that was very unattractive. I actually thought the whole bar area needs a revamp. So overcrowded and Messy 6. Lifeguard chairs looked terrible. Hotel room. 1. Cleaned nicely but the first thing I saw when we walked in was the missing paint on the wall and stains on the carpet. I have photos. 2. Actually had enough towels. Imagine that 3. Toilet paper is really revamped Sand Paper, so if you have a delicate touchey bring your own! 4. Cleaning staff Very nice. That’s shocking. Activities: 1. Gambling.Gambling. 2. Bingo 3. ******** 4. Pool. 5. ********. They would get a LOT more business if they had more things to do! *And yes I IKNOW it’s a ****** for those who will feel the need to comment. Auditorium (or whatever you call it.). Piss poor design. They have the HUGE AC things against the wall. If you were unfortunate enough to have a seat by them, you had a HUGE problem hearing. The people running the screen, did NOT do a good job at ALL of helping us see Jay Leno from the nosebleeds.

The hotel was very clean and staff friendly. The only downside was the bingo hall was freezing for 2 days/ hated it but the rest of the trip was fun and enjoyable.

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as it was supposed to be "VIP" hotel. I was able to reserve a COMP room about 2 months in advance of our stay and we were excited. We arrived on Saturday about 4pm, which is check in time. They told us our room was not ready and to come back in about 30-45 mins, not a big deal so we came back at 5. We came back and they said the same thing and to come back again. They said they overbooked the hotel and were trying to get rooms ready. So we came back at 6pm and then they told us that our room type was not available, we reserved anon-smoking king, and they only had a smoking king room available. I feel as if they lied from the beginning and weren't going to honor our reservation to begin with as requested. I was trying to get over a cold so I wasn't thrilled about a smoking room but we went ahead and took it. The other option was to move the Seven Clans which was on the other side of ******, not a good option as it was very cold outside. Why would they overbook and how can they just move rooms when I took the time to reserve a specific room for a specific reason, so far in advance! I was very angry! The other thing that happened was on Monday morning - my husband woke up to a brown roach on his head. Luckily he was able to kill and get rid of it but WOW!! This is supposed to be a 4 or 5 star hotel where VIP people pay lots of money to stay, I don't know how that can happen! We were booked to check out on Tuesday but we left the hotel early (Monday) because of the issues we had with this hotel. Unfortunately, we will never stay at this hotel again. We will go back to the Seven Clans where we have been staying for the past 2 years. Needless to say, it was extremely disappointing - EXTREMELY!!

I have been receiving offers for a complimentary room over the past year, finally decided to take advantage of it to take my mother for her 80th birthday. That being said, I understand the room was complimentary and would not write this review if it was somewhat satisfactory... however, for a hotel of this caliber, I expected better. Pictures will show for themselves, you decide. Upon arrival, it was noted that the room appeared old and worn. The back headboard of the bed was ripped and torn in several places, the chair was also ripped. I could live with worn, given the price... we rushed out because mom was ready to gamble, lol. So did not realize extent of how unacceptable it was until much later. There was someone else's hair all over the bathroom floor. The counter tops in the room were not cleaned. I went to get a clean hand towel the next morning to dry my face after washing it and when I unfolded it ... it was dirty, also pictured. We made coffee and it was full of grinds and a complete mess. We have a Keurig and know how to work this type of coffee machine, lol. With all of this noted, I can only assume that the sheets were probably not washed from previous occupants... but trying not to think of that. Had I realized all of this earlier we would have definitely requested another room... sigh. Also, on a side note, the pillows on the king size bed were 4 very small standard pillows, looked barely bigger than airport size. I called for a couple extra, they said they would have them hanging on outside of door when we returned for the night. Found them hanging on someone else's door a few doors down... at least I hope they were for me, lol. I will say that the ******** was not bad, wish they had more video roulette options and open during the day, but that's just me. We had two nice meals with good service at the terrace cafe. However, this particular stay was enough for us to say... we most likely will NOT BE BACK. I've read other good reviews... guess we were the unlucky ones.
