We are locals and eat at The Hood regularly. All the staff are so friendly it’s a lovely place to spend an evening whether for a meal or just a drink. The food tonight was as delicious as ever. If monkfish is on their specials board it is always my first choice. Tonight it was tandoori style with samphire and aromatic rice. It was stunning! The chefs here are so talented. We are a very lucky village indeed.

What a great find. Rooms are very well appointed and the bed so comfortable. Breakfast to die for and Catherine and the team are just fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you team for making our stay so enjoyable.

I stayed here with my husband to celebrate his 50th. I can't thank the staff enough for a perfect weekend away, everything was spot on. The landlord and landlady were away on holiday, Lizzie, Kathryn and Lou did a brilliant job running everything. The staff are really lovely and helpful and the service was excellent. The food was also really good, 10/10 for taste and presentation, many thanks to the talented chef. I was really impressed with the breakfast and the roast was all homemade. The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. If you are looking for a special weekend away The Hood Arms won't disappoint. There are also lots of beautiful walks and places to explore locally.

Excellent Sunday lunch at the Hood. The waitress registered my disappointment at not being able to have the cauliflower cheese as it contained gluten, so I was delighted to be presented with a gluten free Cauliflower cheese side dish just for me which was above and beyond the call of duty!

A very nice 2 day stay.
WE stayed two nights at the Hood Arms and were given an upgrade on our original booking to a spacious room (Room1) with a good sized bed and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The room has a lovely view of the garden. The bathroom is large with a free-standing roll top bath in the centre and a large walk-in shower to one side with and excellent rain shower. One improvement would be a comfortable chair in the bedroom.
The room provided a kettle and a good selection of tea and coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was very good with a selection of cereals, juice tea and coffee and hot food on offer and the host was very attentive.
All in all, a very nice stay. Many thanks.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night but would definitely reccomend it.
