Dufferin Coaching Inn

This was an unusual, unique and charming place to stay. The room was thoughtfully and comfortably furnished. There were lovely personal touches everywhere. As referenced by other reviewers, the rooms were equipped with everything needed ( including face cloths!). The decor was traditional and cosy but didn't fall short on comfort as the beds/ pillows and bedding were perfect. It was very relaxed with easy access in and out of the building as we pleased. The Dufferin bar next door served great food and drinks. We ordered breakfast the night before and in addition to fresh continental choices, our delicious hot food was cooked on demand. My omelette was perfect and my friend's fry was lovely quality and beautifully presented. Oh, and in an age where everyone seems to be ripping out the baths in hotels, there was a lovely bath ...complete with a little bath pillow! Janine could not have been more hospitable, flexible and welcoming. She phoned me after I left to let me know I had left something behind and she thoughtfully arranged to leave it where I could pick it up. A rare gem, I hope to return!

We love this place. Always a warm welcome and the best breakfast to start your day. Rooms are spotless and have everything you need. This is why we come back every year, sometimes twice! The surrounding area is beautiful, good golf courses around. Attended a function in their function room which is fabulous and managed very well.

From the friendliest welcome to the fantastic room and freshly cooked breakfast, featuring finest ingredients, this accommodation plus all the little extras has everything you need for a memorable stay in a picturesque village on the shore of Strangford Lough. The owner, Janine is such a special person who exceeds at hosting. Her knowledge of the area and helpful advice give great guidelines for sightseeing, eating out and activities.

My mother & I recently stayed at the Dufferin Coaching Inn, in Killyleagh, Co. Down, and had a really lovely break there. Janine our Host made us feel very welcome, and was extremely friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about things to see and do in area. Our room was lovely, it also contained a lot of added extra’s that you would normally only find supplied in a four or five star Hotel. (eg Dressing gowns and slippers, chocolate treats and water). The beds were extremely comfortable, and we had a view of Strangford Loch from our window. Nothing was too much trouble, Janine booked us a table for dinner on the evening of our stay in the Restaurant/Bar next door, which saved us having to do it. There were plenty of areas in the house that were available for guest use, so that you don’t just feel that you have to stay in your room. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely book another stay there in the very near future.

Had a wonderful stay here for a wedding nearby. Absolutely beautiful. Charming and helpful hostess and exceptional attention to detail. Loved everything about our stay. So comfortable. Highly recommended. Also. There’s a cracking pub next door. 🫢

I catered for an event at the Dufferin Inn last weekend, the premises are absolutely stunning very charming and clean, great staff. The owner Janine couldn’t have done enough for us from the minute we arrived she was so friendly and helpful. This is the perfect place for any gathering or intimate wedding etc don’t look past it!! Hope to visit again soon
