Today we went to stay at this hotel. Trip advisor listed it as the top of ten best places to stay in Killen, Scotland. We chose this hotel. It was possibly one of the Dorset places, I have ever been to. We refused our dirty room and asked for our money back. Mi am just wondering who is reviewing hotels for trip advisor? Beware. It then took us hrs scrambling to find accommodation, which we did in Callendar Scotland, a b and b called poppies. It was lovely. Avoid the falls of DOCHART in killen, Scotland. It is a train wreck and tripadvisor needs to do an inspection before recommending such a rundown, dirty hotel.

The bathroom in our room only had a tub, no standing shower. The ceiling was so low that you had to crouch to use the tub. The toilet seat was broken. The floor of the room was dirty.

Atmospheric bar & restaurant, beautifully appointed room. Breakfast was incredible! I looked forward to my smoked salmon every morning. Husband had the vegetarian breakfast and said it was also excellent.
I liked the system of selecting breakfast the night before.
The town is super walkable with location next to the peaceful & romantic waterfalls. Outdoor tables packed with people gave it an energetic but casual hub-of-the-village vibe.
Hallway carpeting (with old water stains?) and walls showing some wear & tear, but nothing that impaired function or charm. Good value.

We did not stay. We were not given the room that was booked. It was terrible. Tiny room, disgusting shower - I wouldn’t put an animal in it. The bed cover absolutely disgusting. It looked as though it had never been washed. I went to see the Manager and unless he could give us the room that was booked I said we are leaving and we did. It was extremely disappointing as it was a birthday holiday and we had to drive 220 miles where we were able to get accommodation as I rung from the Car Park. It needs to come off your site. You are selling it on the view - full stop.

Super old traditional pub with interesting nooks and crannies. Opposite the waterfalls and with its own smokehouse at the back. Good and varied menu, food excellent especially the salmon starter and the Dochart Skink soup. I had a venison burger which was delicious. A special mention must go to the two young ladies who served us, so friendly and good humoured when faced with over a dozen family members. We shall return!

This is a lovely, friendly and peaceful hotel to stay in. Food was lovely, staff very helpful. Improvements being made all the time. Lovely area for walks, tea and scones, etc.Very relaxing. Many attractions nearby, Oban, Pitlochry, Fort William.

Stayed here fir a few days in August. It’s what you would expect. Cosy clean. Excellent staff. Food is good Will be back again.
