Kilmorey Arms Hotel

Myself and partner checked in on Sunday 13th October for an overnight stay ,and from the initial arrival to departure the service ,stay & food was first class .our room was very nice ,warm and smelt lovely ,there was entertainment from 3 pm to 6 pm which was a nice surprise in the bar .the staff were so friendly and efficient ,and made us feel so welcome. We ate in the hotel on Sunday night and to say food ,service & ambiance was fabulous ,is an understatement, best seafood platter every ,and my partners still talking about his ribs & chicken combo ,breakfast was served to our table this morning ,which didn't disappoint either . A truly lovely 1 night getaway ,and we would highly recommend this hotel ,their staff & food .

Spent a few nights here recently. We were fortunate to get a space in the small carpark but there is lots of parking available on the road outside if it is full. We were warmly welcomed and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was OK, nothing special, but very clean and there was a complimentary bottle of water each day. The beds were quite hard! There aren't many places in Kilkeel to have an evening meal midweek so it was fortunate the food in the hotel was very good and well priced. It was very busy and noisy in the restaurant with lots of families dining, booking is recommended . We had excellent fish and delicious desserts, I recommend the whiskey and honey creme brulee. If you want a drink in a quieter spot there is a small beer garden, weather permitting, and a cosy little lounge by reception. Breakfast, a fine Ulster fry was also good except for the instant coffee in a coffee pot! It is a bit of a walk to the seafront and even further to the harbour. Both worth a visit but easier to drive as there is no problem getting parked. We would stay again if we were in the area.

Over recent years under current ownership this hotel has turned a corner, it’s now a jewel in Kilkeels Crown The food is amazing, banter with staff a cracker. Menu pricing& selection will be hard to beat, never forgetting local supply chain

For two nights in a row, there was music booming from the floor beneath my room, loud enough to rattle the beds. This went on until 1AM the first night and 12:30AM the second night. I lost about 6-8 hours of sleep. Here’s the issue: as Kilmorey Arms mentions on their website, they have musical events on weekends. What they neglect to mention is that they host these events directly under their room blocks, at high volume, late into the night. If your room happens to be near a party room, expect to be kept awake for hours. The hotel doesn’t consider this a problem. When I spoke to Reception, they told me “it states in your booking agreement that we have live music on weekends.” With that in mind, I re-read the booking agreement I received over email - I found no mention of music at all. Furthermore, even if it were in there (or if it’s mentioned in some other document that I’ve missed) I don’t think “we have music” actually conveys “we might have loud music blaring from your floor until 1AM.” Go read the lower-rating reviews for Kilmorey Arms, both here and on other sites. People have been making complaints about the noise since 2018. Also read Reception’s responses, which confirm that the hotel intends for these disruptions to continue. They’re perfectly happy to charge guests full price for rooms they can’t sleep in half the night. And if you’re perfectly happy with that policy too, then by all means - make a reservation.

Great hotel.Would highly recommend a stay here. Great rooms, amazing food with plenty of choice from the menu. Above all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, making our stay a pleasure from start to finish. We were in Ireland working for 2 weeks with our 2nd job being 30 miles from this hotel. We were made to feel so welcome on the 1st week we decided that it was worth the extra travel to stay here for the duration of our stay.

We had a really good stay here, the rooms were very clean and spacious and the staff were so friendly. Although you can hear music from the bar on the Saturday night it wasn’t too bad. The breakfast was good but maybe a selection of pastries instead of just croissants would have improved things. All in all it’s an excellent hotel with high standards, I really hope they maintain them.

The staff were all extremely friendly, professional & helpful, which was especially important as I am wheel chairbound & my wife greatly appreciated the assistance. The room was very comfortable & room service for breakfast was excellent. The cleaning ladies were happy, singing & helpful. The complimentary minibus service was most helpful, as was the driver Sam. Food in the bar / restaurant with our friends was most enjoyable. All in all a very pleasant experience.

From the moment we arrived at reception to check in the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and staff again were absolutely lovely and helpful.The music was great in the bar that night and staff were lovely again,room was comfortable and hotel was spotless.
