The spacious rooms, high ceilings, and luxurious amenities were appreciated by guests. They enjoyed the proximity to the seaside and stunning beach views. However, some found the buffet breakfast lacking variety and quality.

Im so sorry that finally we reached our dream destination, but we choose the wrong hotel to stay. It is maximum a 3* hotel with very out-dated rooms and facilities, the food was just simply horrible and its a shame that they provide this to high quality guests. On the whole island there were no wine and beer during our 1 week stay, fruit was just uneatable, boring low quality breakfast, untasty dinners, really just simply unaffordable for european standards. 1 week was not enough to prepare the safety box in our roon. Drainage and bad smell in bathroom, mudy aircon, very low-maintained areas. Once it could be a glamurous hotel, but theese days just struggling with demotivated, missinformed staff. However waiters was very friendly, thats to only point I can give connected to the hotel. Last but not least Maldives itself, the white sand and blue water and spakling under-sea life is breathtaking, therefore it is even a bigger dissapoint to stay in a hotel wich is not harmonised with the surrounding.

The rooms are very big, all of them are villas 🏠 or water houses; The scenery is very beautiful like a painting; The water is colorful; Compared to the natural environment, the food in the resort can only be said to be ok, the service attitude of the service staff is very good, especially the Indian guys Jafur and the Indian beauty Sussie in the restaurant, they are very friendly and good to children!

Kihaa Maldives ruined my honeymoon. This was our 5th visit to Maldives and this resort changed my perspective about Maldives. This place has a list of cons which i would not be able to list down here, but here are a few: 1. The buffet spread is beyond horrible. You will get the same set of items like - oats, omlette, salad without any sauces for breakfast. The same tuna and chicken grill for lunch and dinner. Even our honeymoon special dinner hosted by the sea had the same tuna grill and chicken grill just that it was presented marginally better. To be precise each lunch / dinner has the same structure without any difference in taste - sauted veggies, roasted potatoes, some Indian curry which is tasteless, grilled tuna with a basic butter sauce, grilled chicken, a beef / lamb curry which is again very ordinary, steamed rice and some tasteless pasta / noodles. The salad section has the leftover lettuce as the only salad item. No selection of cheese / sauces. The dessert section has 4 items which is repeated almost daily. 2. The resort is literally in ruins, you can see the water villa literally getting submerged in the sea. There are no lights in the passage, water flow in the washroom is low, they dont give you laundry bag / slippers. 3. The waterlife is also average with zero efforts on restoring the corals. Even the snorkeling experience was upsetting. 4. The bar literally has no stock at all. They even tell you to upgrade to All Inclusive at the time of chevkin by paying 120$ per night per person only to get upset later. The only good thing about the resort is the staff. They gave us a room upgrade out of sympathy. They went out of the way to ensure the stay is manageable despite all the mentioned cons. The 1 star i am providing is only because of the staff who are struggling to get out of the resort. Kihaa is one of the three resorts blacklisted in Maldives. The 5 night stay here felt like a jail experience where we could not even leave the place since this is super far from Male and boat / sea plane is super expensive. They also make sure you pay the sea plane fee right at the time of check in so that the guests cannot run away. The staff looks at you empathically seeing that you have lost your money for this disappointing vacation. Please dont believe their youtube and instagram videos, everything is misleading.

The extremely popular 5-star resort hotel in the Maldives has a beautiful environment and can be called a paradise. Stay at the Villa and it is close to the seaside, so you can enjoy the unparalleled beauty of the beach. Awesome!

There are a lot of mosquitoes on the island, and there are mites on the bedding. It was really painful to stay there. In addition, the hotel environment is not good, and many places in the water houses and some villas are abandoned. The main reason for booking this hotel this time is because I went there in 2018 and had a good experience at that time. But this time, I regret it. In addition, the hotel’s morning and evening buffets are really bad. I have been to more than a dozen resort islands in Maldives, and this meal is too scary. There are 8 staple foods every day, which are beef, fish, chicken nuggets, vegetables, rice, noodles, Indian beans and potatoes, and then some Western pastries (three or four varieties), and nothing else. Anyway, I feel that it is worse than the three-star hotels in China. The problem is that if you don’t eat this, there is nothing else you can order to eat by yourself (several bars, restaurants and spas in the hotel used to be closed), leaving only a buffet restaurant and a pool bar. It is completely inconsistent with Ctrip’s 5-star rating. It is recommended to cancel the 5 stars to avoid misleading customers.

I have visited many resorts in Maldives over the last 20 years and Kihaa was unbelievably horrible. I have rarely visited a place where I don't have a single nice thing to say, the rooms, food and service was equally terrible. We were a group of 4 and stayed in two beach access villas. They were both very dirty. Spider webs between the bedside lamps and wall. The outdoor showers were covered in mold (see photos/video). The WATER FROM THE SHOWER AND TAPS WERE BROWN. DISGUSTING ROOMS. Very, very unsafe. No Doctor or Nurse on the island, and the clinic was unavailable, which is very strange because most resorts in the Maldives have a clinic and doctor. I have a fractured toe and needed assistance. I was all by myself in the room and had asked for a buggy to get to reception, I waited for over 45 minutes with no buggy and reception didn't answer my call for over 30 minutes. My family was on a dolphin cruise and I was stranded alone with zero assistance from the team (see video) despite having emailed and checked for buggy assistance weeks prior. The food was abysmal. The head chefs should be embarrassed of the quality of food they offer especially at breakfast. The breakfast at staff canteen at most resorts is better then the breakfast they offer guests here. The pastry and bakery section were all frozen and reheated and tasted stale. The dinner was really horrid too, the most cheap basic ingredients, served cold and soggy. The desserts were really bad too, and tasted tacky. The service at the restaurants was very slow and very disorganized. At all our meals we had to ask for crockery and cutlery, like side plates, napkins, glasses for water, etc. Certain members of the staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. On the morning of our checkout, a receptionist named Shahin (I believe that's his name, nobody wore name tags) claimed he was the highest member of command present and there was no duty manager, front office manger, resort manager or general manager at the island and refused to give us contact details (email or number) to whom we could voice our grievances. He raised his voice au my partner and I and wouldn't let us finish talking. This is something I have never experienced in luxury hospitality and we called our own boat and departed from the island earlier than anticipated. My partner and I both work in the Maldivian hospitality industry and I asked to spezk to the front office manger regarding these major health and safety concerns. Not much changed after our conversation. This was the most horrid stressful stay we have ever had and I would hope no one ever has to endure such an unpleasant and unsanitary resort. It's an embarrassment to the Maldivian hospitality industry.
