Ugab Terrace Lodge

There are many great spots and lodges in Namibia. Ugab Terrace is surely one of them. What stands out at Ugab is the great service we have experienced. The staff must be able to read minds. We were asked if we want to stay outside for dinner, when she saw that we really enjoy the sunset and the quietness on the terrace. In the morning the other waitress saw we were watching animals while having coffee and approached the table without making the slightest noise in order to not disturb the animal. When we went for a walk the manager gave us a radio in case we would need help. The lodge itself sits on a mountain with a great view. The drive to the lodge is fun. Everything is clean. The food was great. The service is outstanding. My rating is 5 stars with an extra star for the staff.

Loved this place. Nice room, very clean. Nice little porch on each cottage with table and chairs. Pool was huge but a little cool. Food was excellent for dinner and breakfast the next day. What I really liked was that each little cottage was walled off and had a garden where vegetables were grown for the kitchen. Nice little touch that I had never seen before.

We've stayed here twice in 2024 - once in a chalet and once in the camp site. It is a beautiful place - the view is spectacular (one of the best anywhere in the world) and the lodge and its facilities have been thoughtfully built into the landscape. The staff are lovely, the food is good. It's a special place to enjoy this amazing valley from.
