Several old houses are in a small courtyard. The facilities are very old. The experience is very poor. Breakfast has almost nothing good to eat.
The price/performance ratio of this hotel is so bad, don’t be fooled again. There are plenty of hotels to choose from on the island.

We had a great stay at Sala Don Khone hotel. We stayed in one of the French Heritage rooms. The room was huge with a lovely high ceiling. Air con and fan were very effective. The manager was so helpful, organising trips - the sunset cruise, waterfall trip, cycle hire. We cycled all round the island and Don Det also. Lovely terrace to enjoy the sunset. Thank you! The island is beautiful.

We stayed one night. We didn't have a water bungalow, but it was still good. Our room was clean and big, we had a great shower. The atmosphere is simply romantic. Dinner in the guesthouse on the Mekong was good. The service was also good, we were satisfied, sunset, a cold beer, a clean bed and a shower is all you need. Breakfast was simple and sufficient. We were impressed by the friendliness of the people. Our conclusion: you just have to love Laos and its people, maybe it will teach us Europeans a little humility.
