It's a very small town. The proprietress speaks very good English. There is a two-story building and 9 yurts. I stayed in the yurt. The owner lit the stove at night and I could use the electric heater in the morning. The breakfast made by the proprietress was simple but nutritious. I could eat in the restaurant at night.

There are no Chinese reviews about this youth hostel on Ctrip, so I'll share them. The room is very clean, so you don't have to worry about hygiene. The bathroom is on the first floor of the two-story building, but there is no bathroom on the second floor. I don't recommend the yurt because it will be cold at night. The hostel owner is very nice. He picked us up at the station when it was raining, which was very touching. The male host has a car, and you can pay to take us to any place you want to go, and the fee is reasonable. The male host is also very patient. There is breakfast, which can basically fill your stomach, and you can also buy vegetables and cook. There is hot water. Many Western visitors live here. The youth hostel is right outside the prairie, and there is a large supermarket one kilometer away. The location is quite convenient and the cost performance is very high. You don't have to worry about many bold people living here!

I really can't say enough nice things about my stay at Gaya's Guest House and the three-day tour I set up with Gaya that took me to the Orkhon Valley/Waterfall, Elsen Tasarkhai (Mini Gobi), and a stay with a nomadic family outside of Kharkhorin. From my first email inquiry, Gaya was extremely helpful in setting up my tour and offered incredibly fair prices for a solo traveler. I stayed two nights in one of the gers on her property and was incredibly comfortable and well taken care of. I absolutely loved Kharkhorin itself, and one of the happiest days of my entire Mongolia trip was spent walking around town, seeing the sights, and exploring the rolling hills (with lots of friendly goats and sheep!) nearby the guest house. On my 3-day tour after staying in Kharkhorin, I saw incredible landscapes, met generous locals, and ate delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the local families that Gaya arranged for me to stay with. While there may have been a language barrier at times, the hospitality and kindness I encountered was unforgettable, and I haven't stopped thinking about my time in Kharkhorin and nearby countryside since leaving Mongolia. Do yourself a favor and spend a day or two in Kharkhorin and arrange a tour with Gaya! You won't regret it. Thank you so much, Gaya. Sorry for the late review!

Top marks to Gaya! I was struggling to figure out a quick tour in Mongolia and she made it easy. And she let me pay on site. If you take a tour with her, be sure to ask lots of questions, she is super responsive. The rooms and bathrooms at the guest house and are nice and clean. Good size and everything you need. Loved the filling breakfast. FYI that for other meals, so you’ll need to walk to supermarket or restaurant. Bring a light for coming back after dark. The guest house is an easy walk to sites and Gaya picks you up at bus station.

Cut a long story short, initially when Mongolia came to my mind it was all vast land w nothing but horses and gers then I figured there's desert too! (Don't let the blue sky fool you, it was freezing cold some night -20 degrees!) So i had to go see for myself, but the problem was where do i even begin to plan this, and that's when I found the gem of a person, Gaya!✨️ As I solo travel, I enjoy meeting and listening to stories where, despite many struggles and hardships in life, they didn't give up and created something amazing! That person was Gaya in Mongolia for me. It was her childhood dream to be a guide, but language was an issue along w other problems but after many years, her dream was finally alive and like me, many people have stayed at her guest house, and she has helped hundreds of people for their Mongolian trip. So it's not just a guest house, but she can also help plan or arrange an itinerary that suits you 🙌 Also, safety is number 1 for me as a solo female traveller, and she ensured I felt safe and at home throughout my trip. Kept me warm day and night, fed me good healthy food, and I got to experience staying in a ger with a local nomadic family eating staple nomadic meals and milk tea! #bucketlist more coming soon Shout out to @gayasguesthouse.mongolia for such a special memory. If you are considering visiting Mongolia, feel free to email with your time and budget. I suggest only serious enquiries as you can understand she is a busy woman running a business. All the details and Mongolia travel itinerary is published on the blog. link in bio.

Gaya is the real deal! She is a strong, kind, friendly and helpful host to all travelers. It is clear she loves what she does and takes great joy in meeting people from around the world. Gaya will coordinate different excursions for the interested traveler as well as assist with and coordinate bus rides to and from UB. Oh, and we were lucky enough to cross paths with her daughter the day before she left for UB to study at a University. What an intelligent, kind girl! Thank you for everything, Gaya!

We stayed two times at Gaya's Place while our trip in Mongolia. We enjoyed the place, full of warmth and willingness to help. Gaya offers very clean rooms and a kitchen as well, hot showers and toilets. We could ask her all the questions we had and she really set trust in our plan using the tend and hitchhiking from Charchorin to Murun. We are really thankful for her recommendations and we can absolutely recommend this place to everybody!
