We loved our 7 night stay! The food was amazing, the beds were great including down pillows etc. Drinks were top shelf and fabulous. the resort is beautiful and the staff (waitresses bartenders etc are the nicest people and just want you to have a great time) With that said, I know why people complained about additional items, tipping etc... and it all falls into one place - the only negatives I found were solely done by front desk and those answering the phones. These folks need training on customer service. I did find that if you questioned something they blamed it on someone else etc. They didn't return calls and had no real knowledge outside of whatever it says in their limited handbook. Really they just need training on customer service and being the first voice you hear at this resort - my guess is they haven't or it was just bad training because I sat and listened to them answer questions from guests and on the phone and it was pretty bad. When I asked about something on my bill, she immediately blamed the crew on the boat. That is not what you want to hear from the person in charge of your bill. Also when I called them with a question from my room, she said would would check and call me back and never did. when I made my reservation they had no clue about car services, taxi's, sea planes etc. So I will help you here - if you are coming from Miami please use GOPRO car service - they were amazing, lovely cars and extremely accommodating. (the service the front desk told me about never returned my call), there are sea planes but the front desk didn't know much, then said they would send me info and never did. So once again, the front desk and those answering phones are the only issue I found as a negative and considering how great the hotel is - I would let it go and just hope at some point the Johnson family who owns this hotel will read our reviews and audit the front desk staff to get them the training they need for front of house.

We loved the Bungalows. Service was excellent and everyone we met on the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We spent time at both the Zen pool and the beach pool. Service was great at each location. Breakfast was overwhelming with everything you could ever want including bloody Mary’s and other assorted breakfast booze. Lunch selection at all locations was excellent and dinner at the 3 restaurants was very good, fresh fish every night. Hemingways Bar was our favorite hang out before dinner. Our room was very nice, 408 I believe, but I would recommend rooms in the 200 to 300 range as they are a little closer to the main activities and probably a little quieter. Great place and we will return.

This is our 2nd visit to the Bungalows! The staff was warm, friendly, and gracious! Service was excellent! Exceptional food and high end drinks! Christopher Lang and our chef made our dining experience memorable! The views of the sunsets and beach were relaxing. We enjoyed the privacy of the bungalow and the bikes. We will go back! Coming back with friends!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS RESORT!!! This resort was terrible to deal with and is incredibly dishonest. Due to some medical issues, we needed to cancel our reservation. We cancelled 30 days before our arrival date. They charge you a $250 cancellation fee!! This is a total scam! I could see if it was a week before, and they had a hard time filling that reservation spot, but a 30-day notice should not have any kind of penalty. I talked to management and explained that we had to cancel due to my husband needing surgery, and the $250 was needed to help cover medical costs. There was no budging, and they were not sympathetic to our situation. This is so dishonest, and they will never get our business. I would not recommend anyone booking with them!

One Star – Not Worth the Price or the Hassle I had high hopes for The Bungalows Key Largo, but our stay was extremely disappointing. The food was by far the worst part—nearly everything tasted like it came from a freezer or a package. The salad bar had stale croutons, the meats were consistently overcooked, and the calamari was rubbery and barely edible. For a resort at this price point, we expected fresh, high-quality meals, and instead got the opposite. The service was just as poor. We waited over an hour for food multiple times, and when it finally arrived, it was often incorrect. Staff seemed overwhelmed or disinterested, and there was no sense of urgency or hospitality. The resort itself is not well managed. There’s no clear escalation process when things go wrong. It took me over 15 phone calls and multiple voicemails just to speak to someone in management. When I finally did, the only compensation offered was a 10% discount—which felt like an insult considering the number of issues we experienced. When I asked to speak to someone higher up, I was told the property is privately owned and that the owner does not speak with guests. For what you’re paying here, you could have a significantly better all-inclusive experience in Mexico for half the price—and you’d likely be treated with more care and professionalism. I would not recommend this resort. Save your time and money and go somewhere that values its guests and actually delivers on the promise of a luxury experience.

Bungalows is a beautiful resort with lovely grounds and well appointed individual bungalow accommodations for each couple. The food is great and portion sizes are also great! They have a wide variety of cocktails and you can choose your liquor if you prefer a certain brand. Breakfast is wonderful at Fishtales as well. The criticisms I would have are as follows: They seem a bit understaffed as far as wait staff around the main pool area, staff is very nice but seem super busy and wait times are sometimes long. Room service is not included in the all inclusive price here and I was told I could not get "to go" food at the tiki bar for my husband who was in a work call in the room. For the price charged this should not be the case. Again the resort is beautiful and I would definitely stay again

The overall ambiance and service of Bungalows is unsurpassed! You’re treated as if you’re the only guest(s) on the property. Once you pull up, your every need is anticipated and met. Check-in was seamless and stress free. The tiki punch offered at the associates desks doesn’t hurt either!! When the staff opens the gates to take you on a tour and to your bungalow, it’s like you’re in a different world. The entire property was spotless and immaculately maintained. Neither my husband nor I have ever felt such soft, luxurious bathrobes! The bathroom was spacious with a wonderful, relaxing shower. Having a garden bungalow, we also had an outside shower. The main room was equipped with an abundance of charging stations, plenty of drawer and closet space and just an overall feeling of relaxed homeyness. The beds are super comfy with fantastic pillows! I’m a pillow snob, and these met my picky criteria!! Nightly turndown service with goodies is provided unless it’s not wanted. The one extra water excursion we took was the tiki boat ride. Our “Captain,” Chris, was super friendly and knowledgeable about Florida Bay and the Key Largo area! It was a lovely, relaxing afternoon jaunt. The grounds are incredibly well equipped for swimming, sun bathing or just hanging out under an umbrella. Should you choose to not walk or ride the bicycles provided with your bungalow, you may call the front desk and someone will come get you with a smile. West took care of us so incredibly well during our stay!! The only area (in my opinion) that wasn’t up to the overall standard was the food. The food was good, but not what you would expect for the cost of a stay at Bungalows. Again, the service was spot on. The food, however, just didn’t meet up. Ben, in Bogie & Bacall’s, was an excellent server with well trained assistants. One’s water glass would only get a fraction of an inch low in the glass when it was being refilled. Empty dishes didn’t sit on your table a minute too long. Each course was perfectly timed and served. One of the soups offered the evening we ate at B&B’s was an asparagus soup. It was probably the best thing we had next to the yogurt/berry/granola parfait for breakfast one day we didn’t want to get out early. Coming from a foody family and for the cost of a stay here, the food was very disappointing. Even with my gripe about the food, the overall experience was excellent. I would certainly recommend it for a couple wanting away.

We booked Bungalows Key Largo with the expectation of a high-end, all-inclusive resort experience. Unfortunately, what we encountered was a serious health and sanitation issue on arrival — and a deeply disappointing response from resort management. Timeline of Events: On the evening of April 5, 2025, after having dinner at the resort, we returned to our bungalow to find a live bed bug crawling on the bed, directly where turn-down service had just been completed. Upon further inspection, we observed what appeared to be bed bug eggs under the bed. We immediately reported the issue. A staff member arrived via golf cart and transported us to the lobby, where we met with the manager. From the moment we explained what we had seen, the manager began denying the possibility of a bed bug issue — long before anyone had inspected the room. The concern was minimized and dismissed. Eventually, a housekeeper was sent to “check” the room, but no pest control professional was called, and no formal protocol was followed. Given the nature of the issue and the resort’s failure to respond appropriately, we made the decision to leave the property that night. We did not stay overnight and did not use any of the resort’s amenities beyond the initial dinner. We immediately requested a refund for the unused stay and followed up in writing on April 8. On April 10, we received a response stating that a third-party exterminator had inspected the room on April 6 and April 9 and found no evidence of bed bugs or pests. However, these inspections took place after we had left and after the room had likely been cleaned and turned over. These delayed inspections do not negate what we personally saw and reported the night of April 5. Then, on April 11, the resort posted a public response to our initial TripAdvisor review. They claimed our concerns were “without merit,” accused us of attempting to damage their reputation, and declared they would no longer respond to further communication. No apology. No responsibility. No concern. To make matters worse, this trip was booked to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary — a milestone that was completely derailed and ruined by this experience and the way we were treated. We have since read other guest reviews citing pest problems, including cockroaches and termites. This suggests our situation was not isolated, but part of a broader pattern that management seems unwilling to address. To be clear, we are fully within our rights to document and share our experience as paying guests, and we do so in good faith. This review reflects firsthand facts and direct communication with the resort. We will not be intimidated into silence by dismissive language or public accusations. We are currently pursuing all appropriate remedies for services paid for but never received and reserve the right to take further action as needed. To future guests: the setting may appear idyllic, but if something goes wrong, you may find yourself dismissed, bl
