Kona Kai was the serene spot for our elopement through the Florida Keys Wedding Center. We couldn’t have been happier with it; the location is secluded but still near local shops and restaurants, the free and easy access to sports equipment like kayaks and fishing rods, and the laid back atmosphere were bliss. I’m sure we’ll be back!

Unique, quiet piece of paradise. Not only are there choices for accommodations, the setting is perfect for daytime lounging in the sun or shade of tiki huts or palm trees or sunsets later in the day. The Keys are not know for their beaches, but there’s a nice, little beach here. In addition to all, the staff is superior. It’s a well oiled “machine”! Starting with manager Kathryn who wants to do anything to make your stay how guests want it to be. Zee is so sweet too, willing to make you Mr stay special. Tanya seems to really know plants & cares about the gardens. Kona Kai is VERY fortunate to have Illiana, Maria, & Emelia for maintaining the “bungalows”. Everything is kept pristine & they work around guest’s schedules, never interfering with our timing. This year was a challenging experience for guests & staff with the Everglades fires, but they put us at ease & the staff rallied to fill in where needed with a smooth transition. The men who worked the grounds also did a great job cleaning the outside & kept garbage cleaned out. Equipment for use (kayaks, stand up boards, ping pong, bags, pickle ball, shuffleboard)…all available & in good shape. Yoga with yoga master, & sweet Lacey, is an added bonus. Kai is a favorite destination. They make us feel like family…they treat us like family. See you next year Kona Kai staff!
