My Place Hotel-Ketchikan, AK

The room was spacious and had many amenities such as a stove, microwave and a fridge, in addition to the standard ones of an easy chair and table etc. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Two very nice photos of the town decorated the room. The pillows were uncomfortably thick. There were plenty of towels but while in the shower, we found out that the body soap container was almost empty. They did fill it the next day after we asked. There was good coffee in the lounge in the morning. Our main gripe was that a staff member was not helpful when the free cab from the airport to the hotel could not be reached. The location of the hotel is good: close to a supermarket and another hotel where you can have meals (no meals at My Place), relatively close to the airport and close to a bus stop to downtown.

Friendly staff… more in the room than I expected. Really enjoyed our time at this place. Would definitely recommend this place.

I've stayed at this hotel before with no issues. Though when I checked in a 530p and went to my room. It was trashed, stacked up garbage, food on the counters and fridge. To include messy slept in beds and used bathroom. The best part was when the front desk told me that the cleaning crew was gone and they didn't have any other rooms. They seemed to be at a loss on why I didn't want to stay. Eventually they called someone in and it got cleaned but really.....

If you are looking for a modern hotel with comfortable beds and clean rooms this is it. The staff was very professional with top notch customer service!

Avoid this place at all costs. I had to call twice to get my reservation confirmation emailed to me and it never showed up. I chose this hotel because I was there for a 4 night stay and the pictures showed a range, and microwave oven and a fridge. The had all of that but no pots, pans, forks, plates, ect. When I inquired they said that they usually sell them, but they were out. They said I should try a second hand store. I thought am I supposed to pack this stuff when I depart? When I complained to their customer service website the manager responded and said that because of the Alaska Food Code they cannot provide these dishes because they can't sanitize them. Other Alaska Hotels like the Aspen Suites do provide the dishware, pots, and pans, so they must of spent the money to get a dishwasher. My next issue was that there were construction being done in the lobby and one of the workers was smoking outside in front of the air conditioning system which stunk up my room. My key had to be rekeyed several times, and the front desk was unmanned most of the time and I had to wait at a window outside the hotel because the lobby was being remodeled until someone showed up. I had the same situation at check out and the person who did that was the General Manager who looked like he just woke up at a homeless shelter. He was very unkept. As I stated before I wrote to their customer service website and got a response from the manger and wasn't happy with his excuses. I ask for the email of the CEO so he could explain how his company can charge me $225.00 per night for a total of $900.00 for a stay with all of these issues. The GM replied that he was on the email thread. I have not heard from the CEO. Save yourself the aggravation and stay anyplace else but Myplace hotels.

It was a large room with a kitchenette. But the first floor and lobby was under renovation. No advise or discount for the inconvenience. Taxi cost to airport was suppose to be charged to the hotel- but was not clarified that only to the ferry to airport. Door to door is actually 90 usd bec the airport is in the island across.

I never opted in, I do not opt in, I never expressed permission or accepted REPEATED emails begging for a survey. Good hotel, reliable clean accommodations with decent internet and good in room air conditioning and heat. Corporate spam begging for reviews are infuriating and disgusting.

Our flight was canceled and we were price gouged by this hotel. Our room should have been (at most, with taxes) $179 per night. They charged us $285 per night and won't refund any of it. Someone else's boots were under our bed, there were paper towels covering our smoke alarm and they had no dishes or silverware available for the room. I'm so upset that they would take advantage of us while we were already in a bad situation.
