Perfect location for us. Lovely big clean family room. Nice hot showers with good water pressure. Comfy beds. Perfectly cooked breakfast. First time staying in the lakes for us but the central location is ideal and the family room is plenty big enough for 4.

This was the 3rd time my group of friends have stayed at “The Dorchester” (as we’ve christened it 😎) & we’ve already booked for 2026! Lorraine & Simon are THE most friendly & accommodating hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms, all immaculately presented, comprise a selection of triple/family, twin/double, & singles, making it very easy to accommodate my group of 12. The breakfasts were delicious with loads of choice. The location is perfect, within a 5 minute walk of the Main Street, yet in a really quiet part of town .

A beautiful guest house in the perfect location, a two minute walk into the centre of Keswick. Lorraine is a wonderful friendly host and nothing is to much trouble, we stayed two nights in a twin room (room 5) that had extremely comfortable beds, hot shower, and was spotlessly clean as is the whole guest house. Cooked breakfast is served at 8.30 am and is excellent, and there is plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, jams, etc to choose from. We were fishing on Derwent water early on the Saturday and Lorraine very kindly got up early and made us scrambled eggs on toast, and the complimentary homemade cake on our return was a nice touch. We are fishing again later in the year and will definitely book the Dorchester guest house again. Paul & Keith Saddleworth Oldham.

A perfect stay: clean rooms and bathroom, well equipped, comfortable, welcoming, lovely hosts, great breakfast, perfect location, comfy beds, great selection of books and walking guides, what’s not to love? We’ve visited twice now and will definitely be going back.

Love staying at Dorchester House. Lorraine is such a wonderful host, always helping with any information we need and goes out of her way to help me with storing my luggage before checkin and after checkout.The location is fantastic, just next to the Town centre and bus stops. The street is well-lit and safe to roam even when dark. The room is super cosy and the bedding is clean and so comfortable that my kids would love sleep-in instead of going out and about. The breakfast is delicious and Lorraine makes sure they are served hot.
The lake is just 10mins walk and there are many dining options. I cant recommend this place enough and Lorraine and Simon are the best hosts. Thank you for giving us such a lovely stay in Keswick!❤️

So welcoming
We had a lovely stay at Dorchester House over the weekend. The hosts were very welcoming and when they found out it was my birthday I came back to my room to find a card and chocolates!
The breakfasts were great, especially the overnight oats which come with different toppings.
Overall it felt homely and perfect for a walking holiday
