Sandy Beach Resort

First time on Corfu and we'd definitely come to the island (and Greece) again! Not sure we would come to this hotel again as we felt it was pretty average compared to other all inclusive packages we've been on. Overall, we had a good time, and so did our daughter. Some things did let the hotel down, meaning our holiday didn't feel as good value for money as some others we've been on, but we still had a good time. That said, there are lots of great things about the hotel. The location was lovely for us, away from the main touristy parts of the island. The beach was beautiful, long and sandy with clear, calm water, quite shallow for some distance out so I wasn't worried about letting my daughter in the water. We always got a sunbed easily on the beach. Good selection of pools, great slides pool for kids, activity pool connected to this with aqua aerobics twice a day, water polo etc., led enthusiastically even in 40* heat!!! Other pools to chill and play at which were less noisy. All pools have bars close by and slides/activity pool has snack bar adjacent. The entertainment team were excellent, probably one of the best we've experienced actually. They were so friendly and inclusive to my daughter, and were recognising her around the resort by the end. She enjoyed the activity pool entertainment, kids club, mini disco every night, film night, party on the beach and shows. She is autistic and sometimes struggles with busy environments but the animation staff were just great with her. We only went for one 'a la carte' meal at Il Gusto, which we enjoyed, Sofia and Michael were great restaurant hosts. At the buffet the puddings were good and the service staff were attentive. Good to have several shops on the site to buy snorkels and games etc. Our room was cleaned daily and towels replaced if left on the bathroom floor. The room had a free to use safe, which in other resorts I've had to pay for, so that was good. The free pool towels were also good and not what we expected, thought we'd have to pay for that. WiFi across the resort was decent which was good as I had to do a bit of business during my stay. Staff were mostly kind and helpful, genuinely wanted you to have a good holiday, and best of all, the weather was hot and sunny for the entire week! Downsides, which the resort may think about if they want to increase repeat business. Our room was fine, but dated. The shower was functional but the enclosure fittings did need replacing. Hot water didn't always seem available, especially in the gap between pools closing and dinner, when most people seemed to be showering. The quality of the drinks on all inclusive was disappointing, unless you like rum and ouzo based cocktails. We didn't really like the token system, especially for soft drinks, but can see why it is done (there were no dirty cups around the resort), but it meant queues at the bars were quite long at times, and we were always worried about losing our tokens. Very nice hotel fantastic welcoming wheb we arrived by Jessica from the guest relations, she was very accommodating and after a long trip she made us feel relaxed and at ease. The food is lovely ,you always find something to eat. The drinks could be better though quality wise but has variety. The room was spacious with lovely beds ,tidy and clean. We soent most of out time out and about. Kids loved the mini disco and the water slides!!! We had an amazing time here and we will certainly be back.
