Inn at Mendenhall, BW Premier Collection

This was a return trip for us celebrating our wedding anniversary The hotel experienced a loss of power during a severe thunderstorm that came through the area just after check in at 4:00. After speaking with the front desk who could not give any details on when or if power could be restored that evening, I explained that we have a medical device which requires electrical power to function. I explained we would like to cancel our stay, seek accommodations elsewhere and get a refund or a stay credit. I was told since we paid in advance through a third party website the refund would need to go through the third party. To date and almost 4 weeks later the third party website has made attempts to verify our situation with hotel management to no avail. Very disappointing. The hotel is very conveniently located to Longwood Gardens and many other points of interest. Would really like to recommend The Inn at Medenhall to others but this level of customer service is unacceptable.

We stayed here 2 years ago. It's a decent hotel at a decent price. The staff is very good, particularly Sandy. Our safe was locked, but no one ever came up to unlock it so that we could use it. The linens are clean, but frayed. Breakfast is mediocre. There aren't at lot of options in Chadds Ford so I imagine we will stay here, again, in the future. Great central location.

Sub-par service: Missing hair conditioner. Even when asked for some, it never showed up. Poor room quality: Room needed a makeover. Furniture was damaged. Sheets were frayed and torn. Refrigerator was broken. Bathroom door opened directly into the toilet. Ouch- Watch your knees! Had a weird step up to enter the room. Thin walls. Would not recommend.

Quite nice. Hotel is in the midst of renovations but, honestly, I thought it was fine just the way it is. Good selections at breakfast. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel while visiting the beautiful Brandywine Valley area.

Conveniently located for Winterthur & Brandywine museum. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I get the sense the business might be struggling. Pros: The bed is comfortable. Outside of hotel looks nice: I appreciate that this is not a cookie cutter hotel. Nice counter in bathroom. Fridge is larger than most. 2 water bottles provided. Cons: I saw ants & a spider in my bathroom. Toilet was loud filling up. Bathroom emitted sewer gas. Could not check in even a few minutes early. Walls are thin. Breakfast room yogurt machine still broken, so it would have been nice to offer packaged yogurt. Elevator briefly didn’t work. No rowing machine in the fitness room.
