The Bell Inn

The Bell Inn and location is pretty and convenient. We had an early wedding at a venue very close by, so check in at 3p.m. would have been difficult. I was told at the time of booking to call a week in advance to ask for an early check-in. This was very difficult, after several attempts to call at various times of the day with no reply or when I did get through, the gentlemen who run the business were not available. I emailed too. Finally got a brief email reply, allowing us to check in after noon depending on the cleaners finishing the room. We arrived a little early as we needed to change. There were persons floating around who did not give us any reassurance that we would be able to check-in and gain access to our rooms early. The cleaners had finished, it would be an idea that all staff were updated with their guests particular requirements to avoid confusion and stress, not a good start to what was going to be a special day, one that we had been looking forward to for a while. We had visions of changing in the pub loos! The room was clean and well presented. I had the disability room, the shower wet room has all the fixtures you need for someone with mobility issues, however, someone using a wheelchair would have had difficulty manoeuvring around the bedroom. I have to use walking aids, I found it difficult to get either side of the bed because it was so narrow. The freestanding closet door sticks, I pulled the door to open it and it nearly fell on me. There was one single size bottle of water in the fridge and a packet of two biscuits provided with individual packets of tea, coffee, milk and sugars. As The Bell Inn does not provide breakfast for whatever reason, it would be nice if they could think of leaving a continental breakfast, a croissant or two, individual butters, jam and/or marmalade maybe. An idea guys?? Thanks for a comfortable but brief stay.

Stayed from monday to friday while working at a nearby location, nothing better than coming back to lovely underfloor heating and a pint by the fireplace after getting changed. The room was extremely clean, with super comfortable beds. The shower was very powerful and nice touches such a mini fridge and bottles of water every day were very much appreciated. Definitely will push to stay here again when next in the area.
