Probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for work. The rooms are filthy, the bedding isn't clean, there are wires just randomly coming out of holes in the walls. The curtains are old and very dirty and don't cover the window. Was booked for more than one night, did not stay here for more than a few hours, the hotel stinks of damp and desperately needs updating.

The perfect storm! When I arrived they were not expecting me. Fortunately, I had my booking documents with me and we were able to resolve the matter. The room was cold. The proprietor/manager was evasive about this and was not willing to show me how the radiator operated. This is wholly unacceptable. In the end the radiator came on at 1.45am and woke me up with its noise. Readers of this review need to know that I prefer a cooler room so if I find a room to be cold other travellers may well find it to be impossibly cold. I was in room 103 which is mentioned by another reviewer. I found it clean, tidy and an adequate size for me as a single traveller. I cannot recommend this hotel and will not return. That said, I might have had a different opinion if the proprietor had been aware of my arrival and had put the heating on in my room in advance of my arrival.

Unfortunately this hotel did not live up to our expectations or the price we paid. We were in an attic room at the top of the hotel and it was very small- one side of the bed was against the wall so not really suitable for two. The complimentary items were fine and there were tea and coffee facilities and a safe but the room had seen far better days. The bathroom was also very mouldy, the shower leaked onto the floor and one of our towels was not clean- it was changed. I have written this review because we based our choice on the pictures which show a much better picture.

The staff were courteous and the room was clean. The hotel was sad and tired and seemed quite an odd place. I may have picked an unfortunate evening but my stay was disturbed by the antics of other guests who seemed to be up all night wandering around and outside in the courtyard banging doors, talking , arguing , hysterics etc and despite the night porter asking them to be quiet they continued. The staff didn’t seem surprised and another guest made me aware that this was a regular occurrence.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times (2 years ago) and never had an issues however I stayed recently and my stay was not good. The staff are helpful and polite however the other people staying in the hotel made it a horrible nights stay. Banging, running and slamming doors late into the night and it started again at 4am, I would say the walls must be paper thin however I have never had this issue before. It was not an enjoyable night sleep. I also had a full English for breakfast and it was very small (1sausage,1 slice of bacon, 1 hash brown, 1 tomato, a few small mushrooms and 1 egg.)

Good location and great friendly staff. The hotel is ideally located near to shops and restaurants and in a good bus to Warwick and Leamington Spa. The rooms are very big and clean. The beds are comfortable and bed linen clean fresh and good quality. There is ample parking with restaurants and bar in site. We would stay again if in the area. Good value for the price.

I thought this place was a bargain for the price. Yeah some of the decor could do with touching up but it was very clean. My bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels were clean. The staff were lovely and I felt safe as a woman travelling alone. It was an accidental stay because pretty much everywhere else was full but now I know about it I will definitely book again as it’s really convenient for my office & run by very warm and welcoming people. I didn’t eat but the food smelled amazing, next time I definitely will.

I’ve stayed here once before and I stayed in a room with a new bathroom and reasonable room. That standard was the basis for me staying again however, today I was placed in one room, only to find it not that clean- there was an empty moretti box next to the bin. So I got changed into Room 106 and was appalled to find the room absolutely baking. It’s like a sauna in here. I’m sat on the bed writing this review. The kitchen is below me, it is so so loud. The whirring of the commercial extractor is frustrating and I imagine that the heat is rising from said kitchen right up I to my room. Everything is shoddy. From the paint job - paint dripped from the ceiling to the wall papered wall etc. An internet socket in the shower enclosure. Hair all over the wall in the shower. The floor boards creak a lot. This is an old building. But, I’m a Property Developer- just because you have an old building- it doesn’t prevent you from fixing squeaking floors. Even a Grade I Listed Building called Castle Howard fixed their squeaking floors. Everything seems shoddy. I asked for a fan. They said they don’t have any spare and that the one behind their area was broken but if they got it working, they’d send it up. The reality is, a fan is a basic in any hotel room. If they do not have any, then there is Amazon where you can buy 3 fans for £50. Everything is old here. And it’s brass - the owners are Indian but it’s important to understand their taste will definitely not be the taste of their average customer. A bit like when you drive through Derby or Bradford and see a 3 bedroom semi with a brick wall with brass coloured or goldned colour steel gate. Those places usually have 6 BMW’s, 3 Mercedes and a couple of Toyota Auris or Yaris on the drive. You take my point. Why O Why, is everything brass etc.
