Pauline & Bill are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely suite room. They seem to have thought of everything you could need for your stay. Breakfast was lovely too. Thank you for a lovely stay. Would definitely stay here again.

What an excellent little guest house. We stayed here for two nights and we were delighted with it. It's everything all the other reviews have said. Pauline and Bill were such good, friendly hosts, the room was warm and comfortable, there was adequate parking and the breakfast was excellent; there was plenty of choice, but for me a compote of fresh fruit and yogurt and then smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is the perfect way to start my day. It was everything a guest house should be. Well done, Pauline and Bill.

We had a wonderful welcome from Pauline and Bill over the bank holiday weekend. Although the weather was iffy the welcome we received at The Glen Guest House was warm and sunny. Our room was great and the breakfast top notch. Our pooch even had her own good night treat in the room.

Stayed as a family (2 adults, toddler & baby) for 3 nights. Very warm welcome from Pauline when we arrived, and we were shown to a lovely, family room. The room & bathroom were perfect, exceptionally clean and very spacious. Breakfast was delicious with fresh local produce. The sausages were extra tasty as was the homemade marmalade. Nothing was too much trouble, and both Pauline & Bill made us all feel very welcome. Lots of little touches in the room made it feel very homely. I couldn’t recommend highly enough. Would love to stay again & thank you for having us.

We visited The Glen whilst driving up to Scotland, this being our first stop from down South. If we could give 6 stars we would! Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable, every little extra had been thought of. The bathroom was extremely large with a double freestanding shower, bath and toiletries. We are always a bit wary about pre-ordered breakfasts but it was definitely not an issue. After having our cereal etc the HOT breakfast arrived, it was delicious and piping hot, which makes a change. Cannot fault the service given by the owners Pauline and Bill. None of our other stops lived up to their breakfast. Thank you for a lovely couple of nights, we hope to return so please don't move! What a find this guest house was! Pauline and Bill are the best hosts, so very welcoming and accommodating, it was like staying with family or friends. We requested an early breakfast one morning as we were catching an early train to spend the day in Edinburgh, and Pauline was more than happy to do it. The room was clean with a comfy bed and a good shower, there are little touches that make such a difference like scissors in case you can’t open the coffee/milk sachets and the remote for the tv had obviously been sanitised and placed in a plastic bag. There was a fan in our room which was very handy as the weather was very hot! The breakfast was lovely and there is plenty of choice to suit all, the mushrooms were the best I’ve ever had! The location is also perfect, close to Kendal town, there is a pub just a few minutes away and the train station is only 5 minutes away too. I genuinely have nothing negative to say, this is the best guest house we have ever stayed in.

Thank you Pauline & Bill for a very welcoming and pleasant stay. Breakfast was super yummy offering continental, fresh fruit medley, and the cooked breakfast being sourced from local produce was a nice touch. Smoked Salmon was also on offer if you fancied a lighter alternative. Both Pauline & Bill make an effort to engage in conversation with guests and to offer advice on the local area. Breakfast is made to order and very fresh, and the breakfast room feels very English with light classical music in the background. The B&B is also located only a minute's drive from Kendal High Street & half a mile's walk from Oxenholme train station. A welcome pack is also provided in the rooms detailing information recommending local pubs/restaurants, and downstairs there are leaflets advertising tourist attractions. From my room also I was treated to a large window looking out over rolling hills adding to a peaceful & serene feel. Rooms are big and my room (number 7) had a super king-sized bed, so there was plenty of space. The room was also lovely and clean with a complimentary tray of tea bags/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits, which Pauline would kindly replenish daily and even provide fresh milk upon request. My Room had a very spacious & modern shower and guests can also use the shower products provided. Overall, an accommodating and restful visit hosted by friendly owners who clearly care about customer experience.

What a fantastic place. Super friendly and helpful Hosts Pauline and Bill, run a splendid Guest house. From the warm welcome and escort to your room, you are made to feel right at home. The room (5) had a great view and contained more than enough tea, sugar, milk etc, a bottle of filtered water and the nice touch of a small pair of scissors. The room was clean and comfortable had a well stocked bathroom and anything you wanted replacing you just filled out the form and left it outside your room. The breakfast is chosen by form and left in the basket in reception the night before. A very good choice to select from, and all cooked and prepared to perfection. Overall a great stay and will definitely come back again.

We travelled over for a few days for my husband's 40th, and such a nice touch was left in the room for him. The room was lovely and cosy, it was spotless. The breakfast was delicious - I loved the pre-ordering system, every B&B should do this! Pauline and Bill were so nice, knowledgeable and willing to accommodate anything, I loved the way both came out every morning at breakfast for a chat. The place feels like a big, warm hug. We will be back, thanks again guys for a brilliant weekend! P.S. Skip the Station Inn and eat at Ye Olde Fleece Pub in Kendal, the BBQ ribs are to die for, we went back every night!
