The internal décor is very dated, especially the carpet in the dining room which is horrendous and is from the 1970's . This could be a very good place to visit but requires a major refurbishment which if undertaken would certainly increase the overall appeal.

We made a return visit to The Old Silent Inn after it had dropped off our radar for many years. We visited at 5:00 pm on a weekday as our family were going home to the East Midlands. We were not disappointed. A good selection of beer, a wide ranging menu to suit all our tastes, good friendly service and excellent value for money. I’ve only given four stars because we found the chips a bit soggy, but that won’t put us off visiting again.

If you are ever in ‘Bronte’ country ? and you’re looking for good food and ale ? The Old Silent inn at Stanbury is a must, we had an amazing Sunday lunch there and have just sampled their ‘Steak night’ the quality and quantity are both amazing, the service is friendly, efficient and makes you look forward to your next visit, give it a try, you will leave with the same huge smile we are leaving with 👍

We went for lunch on a totally wuthering day and it was great, the only time we have been anywhere without being fully sure of GF requirements and it didn't disappoint. We both had jackets and varied fillings and both were delicious. The young lady who served us was excellent professional and friendly.

Fantastic overnight stay at the Silent Inn. The owners Mark & Donna and family (Millie and Ellie) not forgetting Shaun the barman made us feel really welcome. They couldn't do enough for us. We had a great breakfast the next morning that set us up for explore Haworth. Thanks again for a great stay Joanne & John

We called off on our way home and decided to eat here. Big mistakel! We both fancied a Sunday roast. It arrived. I was perplexed by the mound of mash, then beef on top and then crowned with the flattest, dish rag Yorkshire puddings I've seen in my life. They oozed oil and that tasted old re-used oil from a chip pan. Then the vegetables came. A small split dish that turned out to be for us both. I could not believe it. I straight away got the waitress and asked if they were meant for us both and she said yes. So I told her to get some more. She said it will be about 5 minutes. Which it was. Whilst we waited we ate. Red cabbage in some strange syrupy juice than tasted utterly strange. Like rust and dried leaves. Like stale tea leaves. And carrots. Roast potatoes that tasted stale like last week's. When the veg came well, we didn't want it. It was pretty horrific. We were both shocked. We told the waitress how awful it was and she asked how she could change this/make it better? How?? Change your chef!!! Don't go....unless you don't love your stomach and you've money to throw down the sewers.

Stopped in here after a hike for a cheeky bite to eat and drink. The young bar lady was really welcoming, attentive and friendly. The food was really good and lots of options too! It's a quirky old style pub with the low ceilings and wood beams, ******* too so lots of great stories! The only downside was we found it a bit nippy and the toilets had a really weird smell but otherwise what a gem hidden near Bronte.

We booked a family meal for Easter. We were the only customers in the pub when we arrived. The food took over an hour to serve and came in shifts. My wife had finished her meal before mine arrived. Several dishes were over or undercooked. Four meals were sent back. From ordering to receipt of the final meal was 1 hour 25 minutes. The serving staff were very apologetic but seemed to have been abandoned by management. A very unsatisfactory experience. The cost of the food was refunded but the event was ruined. Very poor.

This was our first visit since the inns reopening and we were not disappointed, this beautiful old building in stunning countryside was still as we remembered, lovely cosy surroundings and burning log fires only added to our experience, the staff were very warm and attentive and the food was delicious quite obviously all homemade, terrific value for money couldn't fault our evening, just wish we lived closer but will definitely be back.
