Motel 6 Kearney, NE

Very clean and organized. Couldn’t use the hdmi port to play my Xbox otherwise it was a great hotel experience.

We stopped here for a quick sleep on our way to Colorado. This was our first Motel 6 experience and we choose it because - frankly - we were too cheap to pay for a more expensive hotel room for our 8 hour stay. Upon entry, the room was as I would have expected: simple, no frills, clean. Front desk staff was friendly and check-in was easy. The location was very convenient. The beds were very uncomfortable; all four of us tossed and turned all night. The AC was very loud and the room had a institutionalized smell to it. These things are to be expected for the price. What we didn't expect is what we found AFTER (somewhat) sleeping in the beds all night... ANTS. Yes, ants were crawling all over the bed in which my kids slept. It was disgusting. When we checked out, I notified the front desk staff that we have a bed full of ants (there were so many), told her our room number, and told her which bed they were in. She was kind and said, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience" but nothing more. I was surprised there was no offer or olive branch in the form of a discount/refund. As my husband said, "it was a cheap room. What did you think would happen?" We went on our way and made a pact that this was our first and last Motel 6 (and motel in general) experience. On our trip to Colorado next summer, we will be staying elsewhere.

Overall, I like the property. I slept moderately well. The management was accommodating. The one thing I missed was body wash.

Walls are incredibly thin so you can hear everything. The beds are uncomfortable and sheets are thin. Overall looked and felt gross. Front desk was nice though.

Bit noisy, bit of an odor in the room which made me ponder what critters had been present previously or germs remained. But it was a great “flop” and very convenient. The staff was very pleasant.

Did not accept cash and room on the south end of the building did not insulate from outside sounds. Very noisy night's stay.
