Gingerhill Farm Retreat

This is a true outdoorsmen experience. I stayed in the Monkeypod tent. It was very comfortable. I had a very nice Queen bed with plenty of pillows. The tent came with a folding table, iron racks for hanging clothes, a lamp, multi-plug power *****, and WIFI. The porch had one chair and a table, and the nights were very quiet. The property shares a kitchen with on the needed appliances and dishware available as well as a porch with tables and chairs to watch the sunset. There are two showers, one in door with solar heating and one outdoors (still private) with gas heating. The property has a protected gate with code. Overall, a very good experience and I would stay here again.

A place to relax Perfect

While it can be great for some people, it was not the most suitable for me and my wife. I booked the bamboo canopy. What's great: - Parking is free. - Greenery is great and refreshing. - Dining room and views from it are great. - Great host - They provide free towels, shampoos, cooking materials, free coffee in the dining area, cookware and silverware to use. Issues for us: - Light was too dim for the room, not bright enough even in the day. - The shared restrooms were too remote. They have compost bathroom which means no use of water. Not very convenient. Shower was also not too great cause of no door, only covered by curtains. - Too many insects, geckos everywhere and some spiders. - Taking luggage from car to the room was very hard and far, had to go through all the grass. - The sounds of insects at night is too loud. - Spotty wifi and network. I think this is best for people who are staying 1 or 2 nights with small bags and are well prepared. If you decide to stay here, here's a few tips: - Don't bring big luggage. - Bring some bright lights for room. - Bring bug body spray and anti-itch cream.

Our favorite stay! We are campers, we love animals, and we love the outdoors, and being grounded to our environment! This was our favorite stay in HI. We stayed in ocean front condos, rainforests volcanic caves, and cute motels, but this place was absolutely our favorite! We loved Kimba, the cat, the goats, the chickens, and the big ol pig!! The frogs and stars are night are wonderful. We were greeted at the beginning by a very kind person. She walked us to our cabin and showed us around. We stayed at the bamboo cabin (BEAUTIFUL!) bamboos everywhere! we had out restroom, kitchen area, fridge, and shower. It was so cozy and romantic.

The garden cabin far exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing Hawai’i experience living in a jungle of every fruit you could imagine with an incredible view. So peaceful and quiet I could have spent my entire time on the island on that property.
